I just wanted to say I feel like I have taken you for granted so thank you to everyone who likes and watches my videos. I'm working on a video about Project Hail Mary (video after next) and though the video is not going to be entirely about this, I've been thinking a lot about fiction in general, hard sci-fi in specific, and why we like it. There's a lot of reasons (I have a long list) but I'm curious to know what yours are? I take fiction and sci-fi very seriously. It's more than just fun escapism. It has been a teacher. It has guided me through things about life and taught me some things that I never learned because either I'm on the spectrum or my parent's were emotionally immature. Or both. And so I have been contemplating whether or not stories like PHM, The Martian, The Matrix, etc, are actually good for us? Do they encourage us to be deluded or do they guide us? I think its a topic with a lot of dimension and I'm curious to hear your thoughtful thoughts.
Thanks for everyone who likes my most recent video, and if you didn't, I get that it's a bummer now, sorta low-key attacking some people's beliefs. It was such a powerful experience for me, I hoped it would come across, but I guess I am still delusional, lol.
Edit: I have good news though, I'm joining Nebula! So hopefully as some point I wont have to chase the algorithm as much , but I will probably return to the space and sci-fi visualizations here on YT for a while.

Do they want high-quality content or what? I have been working on an insanely deep dive into interplanetary exploration and the influence of sci-fi on spaceflight. (It's more than you think.) It should be out in another month or two. Keep that bell on!
I've been so stoked with the response from the Ringworlds video that I haven't posted my usual, post-video update. I've been working on the next video about the colonized solar system from The Expanse and Brachistochrone trajectories. I've been trying to get a pseudo-n-body simulation working in Blender for months and finally had a breakthrough. That's what's in the unlisted video below. It should be pretty cool. Lmk if anyone has any suggestions. Kinda like Kerbal Space Program, but in Blender. Hopefully, it will be out around the beginning of March!
I ended the Patreon because I couldn't provide any extras of value because the videos take so much effort. I enabled memberships on Youtube though, so that people who are members and comment can stand out. I try to respond to as much as I can, but if you want to guarantee that I see your comment, I would suggest joining that!

Edit: But this channel wasn’t meant to be about sci-fi lore. It’s about trying to expand our monkey brains to see the universe differently. To see it as homo sideria would. I think it was a mistake to go after just the lore, but it’s what a lot of people requests. Im not sure. Also because of the algorithm and my mental sanity I have to post at least once a month. And the deep dive lore videos take months to make. So I’m going to try to find some sort of medium.

The next video will be a longer and more comprehensive one, but the unfortunate reality is most sci-fi franchises don't use real star systems in their lore. I'm looking at you Stargate. You'd think with all the P3X's and gate addresses they'd be real, but they ain't. I will still mention it.
I'm hoping to get it done in about a month, but it may take a little longer. To quote Dutch, "Stick around."
P.S. Past videos are not indicative of future ones. 7 years is a long time... And yes I spelled autism, delta, and Babylon wrong and said LV-246 and not LV-426. Apparently, my dyslexia is worse than I thought.
