What's Up with the Girls

Tim Curry was one of those rare performers who never simply played a character — he completely became them.

Whether he was Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Pennywise, Rooster Hannigan, Wadsworth, Mr. Hector, or one of the countless other unforgettable characters he brought to life, Tim Curry gave every role something uniquely his own. The voice. The expressions. The humor. The darkness. The timing. That unmistakable presence.

He had an incredible ability to make even the most outrageous character feel memorable, layered, and completely original. You could watch him for only a few moments and immediately know: that’s Tim Curry.

His commitment to his craft made villains more fascinating, comedy sharper, and eccentric characters absolutely iconic. He never disappeared into a role by becoming forgettable — somehow, he made the role more vivid because he was in it.

There will never be another Tim Curry.

Thank you for the laughter, the scares, the songs, the unforgettable performances, and for giving us characters that will continue to live on for generations.

1946–2026 ❤️
Thank you for the memories.

What's Up with the Girls

Today, we remember Dolly Parton — not only for the music, but for the example she gave generations of women. 🦋

Dolly came from humble beginnings in the mountains of Tennessee, one of 12 children in a family that had very little. From those beginnings, she built something extraordinary.

She became a singer, songwriter, actress, producer, businesswoman, philanthropist, author and entrepreneur. She built an entertainment empire, helped turn Dollywood into one of America’s most beloved theme parks, created businesses that employ and support thousands of people, and through her Imagination Library, has helped put hundreds of millions of books into the hands of children around the world.

She walked into an industry where women weren’t always given control of their careers — and she maintained ownership, understood the value of her work, made smart business decisions and built a legacy that extended far beyond a stage.

But perhaps what made Dolly so special was how she did it.

With humor.
With kindness.
With generosity.
With strength.
And always with class.

For us at What’s Up With The Girls, that’s something worth celebrating. We’re two women building something of our own, and Dolly’s story is a reminder that where you begin doesn’t determine where you can go.

You can dream bigger.

You can reinvent yourself.

You can build something from nothing.

You can be kind without being weak, feminine without being underestimated, and successful without forgetting where you came from.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing generations of women that it can be done — and for showing us how to do it with such incredible class. 🦋

Your music will live on, but so will the example you set.

People will come, Ray

We are so excited to watch the Philadelphia Phillies play at the Field of Dreams! ⚾️🌽 What an incredibly cool experience this will be!

One day, we hope to travel to Iowa and visit the iconic movie site ourselves, but until then, we can’t wait to see an actual game played on that legendary field.

Wishing the Phillies, their families, and everyone making the trip safe travels—and wishing our Phillies lots of luck! ❤️⚾️

What's Up with the Girls

🇺🇸 Happy Birthday, America! ❤️🤍💙

As two girls who grew up just outside Philadelphia, we’ve always felt incredibly fortunate to call the birthplace of our nation home. From Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was debated and adopted, to the Liberty Bell, the Betsy Ross House—where tradition holds that Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag—along with Valley Forge, Washington Crossing, and Gettysburg just a short drive away, we’re surrounded by the places and stories that helped shape our nation.

Living here has given us a deep appreciation for our country’s history, the sacrifices made for our freedom, and the incredible legacy that continues to inspire generations.

As America celebrates 250 years of independence, we hope you’ll take a moment to reflect on our shared history, celebrate with those you love, and create new memories of your own.

From our family to yours, we wish you a safe, happy, and meaningful Fourth of July.

Happy 250th, America! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

What's Up with the Girls

Happy Father’s Day to our dads, Jim and Wes. 💙

Today, we find ourselves thinking about all the little things that made them who they were.

The stories.
The laughter.
The family trips.
The music they loved.
The movies they watched.
The lessons they taught us.
And the memories that somehow get funnier and more meaningful as the years go by.

We remember bike rides without training wheels, learning how to drive, checking the oil, filling a tire, and all the practical life lessons that seemed ordinary at the time but became priceless later.

We remember trips to Florida, days at the shore, roller coasters, diners, old movies, old songs, and late-night bowls of ice cream that somehow always found room after dinner.

We remember one dad who could tell a story about anything and another who could make an entire room laugh—or cry during a movie.

What we’ve realized is that even though they’re gone, they’re still here.

They’re in the songs we listen to.
They’re in the places we travel.
They’re in the stories we tell.
They’re in the values they passed on to us.

And every time Deb and I sit down to share our lives, our adventures, and our memories on What’s Up With The Girls, a little piece of both of them comes along for the ride.

Happy Father’s Day, Dad and Wes.

We miss you.
We love you.
And we carry you with us everywhere we go. ❤️

What's Up with the Girls

This Memorial Day, we remember. 🇺🇸

Today we honor the brave men and women who gave everything so we could live freely, chase our dreams, travel, laugh, love, and make memories together.

Their courage and sacrifice are the reason this ragged old flag still stands.

As Johnny Cash said,
“’Cause I’m mighty proud of this ragged old flag.”

From backyard bonfires to lakeside sunsets, family gatherings to quiet moments of reflection — may we never forget the heroes who made these freedoms possible.

We remember.
We honor.
We are forever grateful. ❤️
