Due to my busy schedule at my day job over the next two weeks, there won't be a video this week. I'm in the process of editing my next video, "5 Medieval Myths Debunked," but I need more time to ensure it meets my standards. Therefore, I will be releasing it on July 1st instead.

The Battle of Tewkesbury happened #onthisday in 1471. It was a pivotal clash during the Wars of the Roses between the Lancastrians and the Yorkists. It resulted in a resounding victory for the Yorkists, led by King Edward IV, over the Lancastrians, led by Margaret of Anjou, whose son, Edward of Westminster, was killed in the battle. The battle effectively ended Lancastrian hopes for the throne for the next 14 years and solidified the Yorkist grip on power in England.

My most recent YouTube videos takes an in depth look at the battle.

#Onthisday in 46 BC, Julius Caesar achieved a decisive victory in the Battle of Thapsus in modern day Tunisia. Facing off against the combined forces of Caecilius Metellus Scipio and Marcus Porcius Cato, more commonly known as Cato the Younger, Caesar's triumph solidified his dominance in the ongoing civil war of the Roman Republic. The defeat of Scipio and Cato's forces further cemented Caesar's authority in Rome, eventually leading to his appointment as dictator for life, eventually leading to the end of the Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire under his heir, Octavian

Since it was a Bank Holiday weekend in England last weekend, my upcoming video will be a History Bites episode. I'll be away for a few days, so I won't have time to edit a full-length video. Nonetheless, it's going to be an intriguing one on Humanity's 7000 year relationship with wool ☺️

#Onthisday in 421 AD, the city of Venice was founded on a collection of small islands. What began as a refuge for people fleeing barbarian invasions on mainland Italy grew into one of the greatest maritime republics in history. Venice's unique location, built on a network of canals and bridges, made it a vital hub for trade between Europe and the East. Over the centuries, the city's strategic position allowed it to flourish economically, culturally, and artistically, becoming known as the "Queen of the Adriatic."
