Max Rushden is joined by Barry Glendenning, Nicky Bandini and Lars Sivertsen as Arsenal draw 1-1 away at Atleti and to preview the forthcoming Premier League fixtures.
On today’s podcast: Atléti and Arsenal were never going to deliver the entertainment of PSG vs Bayern, but it was an undeniably good game. It was tense and it was controversial, and Mikel Arteta and Diego Simeone probably covered more ground than anyone on the pitch. It’s impossible not to talk about VAR or handball here. So apologies in advance.
Elsewhere, after that good result for Arsenal, they can return to stressing about the Premier League title race at the weekend. Home to Fulham, while Manchester City have to wait until Monday.
Then there’s relegation. West Ham at Brentford on Saturday, before all-new injury problems for Spurs at Villa on Sunday. If they both win (big if), they could drag some others into it.
Also, there’s all the EFL permutations, Mykhailo Mudryk’s four-year ban and we answer your questions.

On @FootballWeeklyPodcast: The panel discuss the record-breaking nine-goal Champions League semi-final between PSG and Bayern Munich. Where does it rank among the greatest games ever? Was it chaos or perfection? And how do you analyse a match in which both teams seemed entirely committed to attack? From Harry Kane’s all-round brilliance to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s magic, João Neves’s improbable header and that controversial handball penalty – was that harsh on Alphonso Davies?
Elsewhere, Ipswich take a huge step towards Premier League promotion after Jack Clarke’s late goal at St Mary’s, as Southampton throw away their chance of automatic promotion. The panel also look ahead to the final day of the Championship season this weekend.
Plus, Manchester United edge closer to Champions League qualification with a 2-1 win against Brentford on Monday night. The panel questions whether Carrick is the real deal, discusses Kobbie Mainoo’s new contract, and whether José Mourinho is heading back to Real Madrid.
Also, the panel discusses John Stones' departure from Manchester City, how to scatter ashes and we answer your questions.

Max Rushden is joined by Barry Glendenning, Dan Bardell and Sam Dalling to discuss the Premier League and FA Cup action.
On the podcast today; Southampton thought they had made the FA Cup final for three glorious minutes before Manchester City’s late comeback in their Wembley semi-final. In the other semi, Chelsea – under the interim management of Calum McFarlane – beat Leeds 1-0 thanks to an Enzo Fernández header to end a run of five straight defeats.
In the Premier League, Arsenal did just enough to return to the summit as the Gunners beat Newcastle 1-0 thanks to a lovely Eberechi Eze finish, while wins for Spurs, West Ham and Nottingham Forest mean the relegation places are unchanged with four games to go.
Plus: a wild Edinburgh derby, an incredible finale in the National League and your questions answered.

Max Rushden is joined by Barry Glendenning, Barney Ronay and John Brewin to discuss a wild weekend in the Premier League.
On today’s pod: Manchester City take control of the title race with a huge win over Arsenal. The panel ask just how decisive this result is, did City win it, or did Arsenal lose it in the margins? What do we make of those near-misses from Eberechi Eze and Kai Havertz? There’s also the small matter of the key battle: Erling Haaland v Gabriel as the panel asks if the head-rutting is the ultimate man-off.
At the other end of the table, it’s heartbreak for Spurs as they concede late against Brighton. The panel relive that gut-punch moment, ask whether Xavi Simons has the saddest face in football, and wonder if relegation is now more likely than not. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest surge clear thanks to Morgan Gibbs-White’s hat-trick, Leeds all but secure safety, and it’s now all eyes on West Ham. Will they survive?
Plus, in the race for Champions League football, there’s a seven-goal thriller at Villa Park, a failed dink from Habib Diarra for Sunderland, before Tammy Abraham breaks their hearts seconds later. Liverpool win a chaotic Merseyside derby in the 100th minute; Manchester United edge out Chelsea, and questions are asked about Eddie Howe’s future.
Also, the panel answer your questions, there’s a ‘gold’ testicular-related email, and a fine save from a Max Rushden left-footed scissor-kick.

On @FootballWeeklyPodcast today: Liverpool are outplayed by PSG from the start, creating almost nothing all game and possibly fortunate to leave Paris only two goals down.
Elsewhere, in Barcelona, the whole game changes in a minute. Barcelona were on top before Pau Cubarsi’s red card and a stunning Julián Alvarez free-kick … meaning it’s advantage Atlético for the second leg in Madrid.
Plus, there’s a Premier League preview with huge games at the top and the bottom, Fifa’s new partnership and your questions answered.

On the podcast today: a vital win for Arsenal in the Champions League. Having lost their previous two Arsenal had to find a way and in injury time Gabriel Martinelli drew the defence and Kai Havertz slotted home.
Elsewhere, a much better game at the Bernabéu. Should Bayern have put it to bed? Trent Alexander-Arnold’s perfect ball for Kylian Mbappé means the tie remains alive.
