Just some random snapshots of barn life lately. 🥰

Every night — and I mean every night — Sarah sleeps with her head resting on her lamb. It is the sweetest thing ever. 🥹

Naomi has also completely fallen in love with the lambs and regularly curls up for afternoon naps with them. I think it fills her mama heart… and honestly, it fills mine too.🤍

And this bundle of baby goats? Absolutely ridiculous. 😂 They’re so spunky, playful, and full of life — they’re a joy just to sit and watch.

We’re getting about 1/2 gallon of milk a day right now for our family, and it’s so sweet and creamy. It feels good to be back in milk again!

I also made a delicious batch of tallow & goat’s milk soap this week (featured in this week’s vlog 👌🏼) with the coziest woodsy cabin scent using cedarwood, rosemary, and Siberian fir essential oils.

It’s been such a beautiful week. The sun has even peeked out here and there, which always feels like such a gift this time of year. 😊

And just 12 more days until summer break from homeschool… we are counting down!🙌🏼

These are the kinds of slow, ordinary days I know we’ll look back on someday and miss. So I’m cherishing every bit of it.

Sharing some very sad news today.

Thank you all so much for the love, prayers, and kind words—we feel them and truly appreciate this community more than you know. 🤍

I also see many of you trying to help by offering ideas, diagnoses, and things we “could have done,” and I understand that it’s coming from a good place. But I just want to gently say this: life on a homestead, especially during lambing season, can be unpredictable and sometimes heartbreaking despite doing everything right.

There’s no clear answer for what caused sweet Faith to get sick, and with Gracie, it was a sudden accident that simply couldn’t have been prevented. As hard as that is to accept, it’s the reality of raising animals.

We love and care deeply for every single one of our animals, and we’re always learning and doing our very best for them. Right now, we’re just allowing ourselves to grieve and process the loss.

Thank you for being here with us through both the beautiful moments and the hard ones. 🤍
