🌲 Hi, we’re Joe & Tina — high school sweethearts, married 26 years, parents to 3 amazing kids, and proud retired military veterans.
In 2022, we sold almost everything and traded city life for a slower, more intentional life in Alaska. What started as a leap of faith has become a full-on homestead journey rooted in family, faith, hard work, and freedom. We share real life on our Alaskan homestead — the wins, the struggles, and everything in between. You’ll find:
• Homesteading
• Building projects & DIY
• Homeschooling & family life
• From-scratch cooking & preserving
• Seasonal rhythms of life in Alaska
• Cozy vlogs & honest conversations
We believe in living as self-sufficiently as possible, working with our hands, raising our kids close to nature, and choosing a life that feels meaningful — not rushed. If you love simple living, homesteading, family-centered content, and life in Alaska, you’re in the right place.

Sweet lil Israel…”Izzy.” I LOVE raising sheep. They’re so chill…just cool, calm & collected.💗💗💗
We have 4 breeder ewes now; Naomi, Sarah, Ruth & Izzy. Shetland/Icelandic cross breed. Super hearty breed. With the Alaskan winters…they’re simply unphased.
They will literally choose to sleep outside in -40…with a layer of fresh snow blanketing their wool.
They’re so awesome! Just had to share this pic I took today, it was too precious not to! Tina-

Successful wknd on the homestead! The boys got a front row seat & assisted Joe with processing our 2025 lambs!
Freezer will be packed shortly. Fresh, homegrown meat! It’s a lot of work. All year we feed/water these animals, manage them, care for them…so we can have a beautiful harvest of meat to feed our family.
Throughout the year it’s a tedious, mundane (but lovely at the same time) task raising livestock…but this is the day that makes it all worth it.
Many of you ask if Joe hunts. He does, and has…hence the bear rug and deer head on the wall. But while hunting can be great, it’s not always a guaranteed success.
We don’t have deer in our part of Alaska or caribou. We do have moose but moose season is super short & not always successful.
Joe always teases and says he has a 100% success rate in his own back yard every year…with our livestock lol.😂
Our lifestyle isn’t for everyone, but it’s for us. It’s important for us to teach our kids these basic skills. Not only where their food comes from but how to care for it properly & process it humanely.
It was a beautiful wknd, even the wild gray jays joined us for some fresh lamb fat! Cheers to the harvest!🤍🤍 Tina-
