🌲 Hi, we’re Joe & Tina — high school sweethearts, married 26 years, parents to 3 amazing kids, and proud retired military veterans.
In 2022, we sold almost everything and traded city life for a slower, more intentional life in Alaska. What started as a leap of faith has become a full-on homestead journey rooted in family, faith, hard work, and freedom. We share real life on our Alaskan homestead — the wins, the struggles, and everything in between. You’ll find:
• Homesteading
• Building projects & DIY
• Homeschooling & family life
• From-scratch cooking & preserving
• Seasonal rhythms of life in Alaska
• Cozy vlogs & honest conversations
We believe in living as self-sufficiently as possible, working with our hands, raising our kids close to nature, and choosing a life that feels meaningful — not rushed. If you love simple living, homesteading, family-centered content, and life in Alaska, you’re in the right place.

Yep… I get this comment from time to time:
“I used to like your channel until you brought politics into it.” 😂
The truth is, politics affect all of us whether we like it or not. They touch a lot of the decisions we make in everyday life.
For us, they’re part of why we homestead.
Why we homeschool our children.
Why we choose to carry firearms.
And many other choices we make as a family.
So I’ve never really understood the expectation that because we share our life online, we should keep our principles quiet.
I’ve never been very good at that anyway. 😂 I’ve always been an open book.
I’m not here for a popularity contest or to chase clicks. I’m simply sharing our life and the things that shape it.
Our lifestyle, our values, and our opinions won’t always align with everyone’s — and that’s okay. Everyone gets to make their own choices for their family.
This made me laugh tonight because, honestly, we’re pretty quiet people most of the time… until certain topics come up. Then we tend to speak our mind. 🤷🏼♀️
At the end of the day, this space is just a window into our life. Some people will resonate with it, and some won’t — and that’s perfectly fine.😊

We get this question a LOT this time of year…
“Have y’all made it out to the remote cabin yet?!” ❄️🏔️
Short answer: maybe. 😂
Long answer: In Alaska, everything is weather-dependent. Our cabin is only accessible by the frozen river in winter, so it’s not just about wanting to go — it’s about ice conditions, temps, and safety.
And when you have children in tow, it ups the risk a bit. Things we might be willing to attempt on our own, we won’t risk with our boys. That always weighs into the decision.
When it’s -31° like this morning… we’re mostly traveling from the couch to the wood stove. 🥶🔥
We hope to get at least one winter trip in this year, but around here it’s always TBD and dependent on what the river (and the weather) decide.
But rest assured that when we go, we’ll take y’all with us!😊
Alaska keeps us humble. 🤍
