Welcome to the weird side of Elder Scrolls lore. We cover mods and books that require years of scholarly research to understand. Grab a seat and enjoy the ride, just don't go around reading too much, you might dissolve into the image of God!

It's "The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel."
(Not sure what to make of Asha's endorsement of the story though)

I am at a complete loss for words. I just finished the new Sheogorath questline for The Elder Scrolls Online...

This has been by far the worst story so far. It's the worst case of character derailment I have ever seen in TES. Here are my footnotes for the upcoming video:

- Are there supposed to be Netches from Morrowind in the Shivering Isles???

- He is not really the Deadric Prince of Madness; more so, he is just really stupid.

- Modern Family Guy tier writing (Sheogorath acts a lot like Peter Griffin with how dumb he behaves).

- 60% of the dialogue and quests involve cheese.

- They tried writing some metaphysics (again), but failed at it (again) by making a plot point about Sheogorath's mantle being his madness and that madness existing separately from him as 2 distinct beings. (In Skyrim, Sheogorath says that he IS madness.)

- Reddit-tier jokes. Weak vocabulary

Overall, I never thought I would ever say this, but this is somehow worse than Ithelia.

***Channel Updates***

Glad everyone somehow enjoyed the last video. We have been goofing around for a while now; how about a serious video? The next big lore video I am working on is not focused around a series of books but around an archetypal pattern in the Elder Scrolls universe. Madness and Enlightenment. It's going to be structured a bit differently than the other videos, but I think it will carry the same "essence" as the videos about the Sermons and the Commentaries. Other than that, below there is a list of the projects I am also working on (they are all subject to change):

- Madness and Enlightenment in the Elder Scrolls Universe (Arden-Sul, Lorkhan, Marukh, Mankar).

- ESO video recapping the layoffs and the lore of the new thieves questline and the new Sheogorath quest (spoilers; I don't think I will like either of them).

- Broken Skyrim Season 2 (The scope keeps expanding; hopefully it can get going soon enough).

- Some smaller lore videos about little-known topics like the Synchronicity video.

Question: Skyrim RP servers have blown up recently. Would you like to see any videos about them? Vote below.

Thank you and I will see you soon!

Hello everyone, not the best of news here, but I wanted to let you know that ESO essentially lost half its workforce. I tried making a smaller and quicker video on this topic today, but honestly the story keeps unfolding, so I am going to give you my bullet points here and make that video properly some time later this ESO season:

- I don't want to make anyone pessimistic about the game, but it's unlikely that this game can produce content beyond the bare minimum. Stuff like crossplay, tech debt improvements, etc. are going to be a lot harder to fix and implement now.

- I can say with a high degree of certainty that the 1 thing ESO will never cut back on, even at the cost of other aspects of the game, is the crown store. I can see a future where this game is just maintenance mode with new Crown Store items and the odd new piece of content once every half a year.

- Yet I don't want people to get the wrong idea. This game was incredibly mismanaged; it's struggling to even hit 10k average players on Steam. For the longest time PvPers didn't want to deal with being ignored, and lore nerds kept clocking out with every chapter.

-The only reason this game wasn't axed completely like Destiny 2 was because of the crown store, yet at the same time, the crown store is one of the main factors as to how it got to this point to begin with.

The TL;DR is layoffs would have happened anyway; they are happening all across Microsoft, but I have to wonder, would it be this bad if this game were more popular and more successful? We will never know, but I always had some hope that this game could succeed.

I can only hope that the people who lost their jobs bounce back from this quickly, and I will see you all later.

The Legacy of Orsinium video should be out this Monday. I think the style and humour in it is a good mix of lore and comedy. The mod is REALLY good in the writing department, which is why I felt the need to cover it, even though covering paid mods can be a tricky thing in the community (and for good reason sometimes). The fact is that this mod would not have existed at all had it not been for Creations, which is what led to me thinking about the future of Creations in general.

Here I want to hear why you dislike Creations? (if you do).

Other than that, something special is coming after Legacy of Orsinium. Something romantic perhaps? I will see you soon!

I don't like doing back-to-back discussion videos, so I am going to give my opinions on the "trailer" for ESO season 1 during the Xbox showcase. I watched the whole thing live and thought nothing of it other than "just the standard cringe", but then I noticed that for the first time a lot of people picked up on the fact that this has gone too far.

-The animations are re-used ad nauseam (these same animations have been in the game since launch).

-There isn't a single new model for anything.

-Sheogorath's voice SUCKS. I know mods that did it better.

-The actual trailer gives no information about the story or the new content.

- And worst of all: It doesn't feel, look or even appear to pretend like it's Elder Scrolls. I found myself thinking of Rick and Morty and Skibidi Toilet while watching the trailer for a second and third time.

I have had this theory in the back of my head for a while that the newer lore writers and marketing staff at Zenimax just wanted to work for DnD but weren't good enough, so they ended up making terrible DnD-style stories for Elder Scrolls. This is the vibe I am getting. This trailer was made for no one, serves no purpose, and only adds to modern ESO's reputation in my head as "Skipidi Toilet Elder Scrolls". I can't imagine the damage this does to the IP for outsiders watching in.

What's your take on all of this? Thank you and see you soon!

When I make the larger videos, many ideas I want to include in them often get left behind. In truth, I am 100% aware that the videos get confusing for a lot of people. The truth in sequence is a fine example of that. The main 2 topics I wanted to include in that video but didn't make it in as to not make the video too complicated were the topics of "synchronicity" and the hermetic law of "as above, so below". And just like the first topic, tomorrow at around 5PM UK time I will be releasing the final part of this "saga".

I am thankful you all enjoyed them so much, and I kind of want to make similar videos covering different schools of thought/religions in the future. For now let's just have a goofy summer with Broken Skyrim Season 2, Legacy of Orsinium, ESO's Markath and the second heart of Lorkhan, and a little something you people have been asking for since the Rigmor mods...

See you all tomorrow!

***Channels Updates and a call for the opinions of the ESO FAM***

Thank you all so much for your support in the newest video. I am kinda tired of making lore videos at the moment, so back to mods and ESO I go! Here is a list of the videos I am working on at the moment:

- Legacy of Orsinium mod

- Video talking about the changes happening in ESO

- Broken Skyrim Season 2

- Maybe a few discussion videos?

+ There are still some theories for real-life influences behind the Elder Scroll in my notes. Some stuff, like the synchronicity video and the hermetic principle of "as above, so below", didn't make it into the larger video because they didn't fit anywhere in particular. I might make a smaller video on the hermetic principle, like I did with synchronicity.

NOW FOR THE ESO FAM:

I have noticed a lot of people saying stuff along the lines of "ESO isn't canon for me" or "I don't consider ESO lore to be in the same timeline as the other TES games." So people who have this opinion: Can you please tell me in the comments why you think that? I want to put some of these opinions in the upcoming ESO video (of course I am not mocking your opinions; I really want to know where you are coming from because I just played Gold Road again, and I would be lying if I said that the same thoughts haven't crossed my mind).

Thank you for your support. and I will see you soon!

Hello everyone! The Truth in Sequence video has entered the last stage of editing (which means it will probably be out within the next 10 days).

I have never made a video as complex and in-depth as this one, and I don't think I ever will again. The process of preparing to make this video started more than 6 months ago, and I am glad to see it arriving to its end. It's not going to be as big as the Vivec video (about 4 hours maximum), but it's going to be a packed one. See you soon (extra points to those among you who understand the influence behind the attached picture!)

After launching the most successful Minecraft YouTube channel within the span of 24 hours and then immediately ruining it because I started selling overpriced toys to children, along with other allegations, I have decided to sail off to greener pastures.

Where have I been?

Long story short, the Truth in Sequence video has turned into the biggest project I have ever embarked on. So large, in fact, that for the first time, I am splitting a video into 2 parts. The first part will be out within the next 7 days. The second one should be out within the month too (hopefully). I also want to make a video on Legacy of Orsinium and the reception around it. I will see you soon!
