Brisbane's Queensland Museum Kurilpa's is an infinitely better museum than Sydney's Australian museum, well at least in its fossil collection. Due to Queensland being the most fossil rich state in the country, the state's museum's filled with genuine specimens, and absolutely remarkable ones at that. It's filled with up to date models, dioramas and diagrams, something Sydney's Australian museum struggles with.
Dinosauria's back!!!! and it's looking absolutely stunning!!! Like with what Dominion did, hopefully Jurassic World Rebirth can help contribute to some of the attention the year's other paleomedia will receive.
Welcome back future predator, a new blind/visually impaired, grey, slender, knuckle walking quadruped. This is THEE most common monster type of the late 2000s and late 2010s.
Watched Jurassic world randomly at a motel, ending up watching Fallen Kingdom, JP3 (for the first time), the original Jurassic park and I'm watching the Lost world right now. It's caused me to go on a mad search through all of the current information on Rebirth.
I do like Jurassic world, the spectacle of seeing the park functioning carries it into being such a fun watch. Fallen kingdom just sucks, wished the Jurassic world movies had more of the Spielberg-esque lifelike, drawn out conservation scenes. I think a little more would do so much to build out the basic outlines of the characters.
JP3's a fine relatively low stakes movie for the franchise, I think giving more time to build out the characters of Billy and Eric could've greatly improved the movie.
The original Jurassic park's honestly flawless, unlike the Lost world, Jurassic park flawlessly introduced each of its characters through short conservations and interactions. Even the little microexpressions of each of the characters go so far into making it an ever endearing film. The dinosaurs, build up and pay off, story, pacing... yeah just a perfect movie.
The Lost world still feels like a classic 80s - 90s Spielberg movie, from the drawn out conservation shots, to it's music and effects. It's less interesting, with worse characters than the first, but it's a movie that goes so incredibly hard.
Jurassic world dominion was only available to watch through purchase (I lost my dvd copy).
I'm pretty hyped for Rebirth, the set photos and stills shown off so far are nothing but stunning. There's so much colour to them! The name sucks so much though.
The rocky barrens of the Snowy mountains main range (view from Mount Kosciuszko)
Crows (They're ravens) are the most prominent animals of the area, flying and landing over the many tors which cover the landscape. Surrounding the last evidence of glaciers in the area are picturesque blooming meadows. Peering over the lake you can spot another state's mountains.
When walking through such an environment, it reminded me most of the stereotypical environment of a caveman, the powerful winds, the valleys, tors, scrubby low lying plants and the circling crows. It looked a lot like England's Dartmoor, and Tasmania's alpine regions.
