As front man of Silverchair, Daniel Johns leads the all-time ARIA Awards tally, selling over 10M copies. Crazy that since we filmed this docuseries with the one and only @meganholiday , FutureNever went on to become the only Australian album this year to go #1 on the @aria_official chart TWICE 🤯 and broke the all-time record for the longest duration between an Australian album landing at and returning to #1.

During lockdown the team at @bmgausnz and I had a crazy idea for a raw and real podcast, we built an episodic outline and a list of potential guests, we then took it to @spotifyaunz who enlisted @f_kmedia to help bring it to life and now we are nominated for the @australianpodcastawards

Beavis and Butt-head…and me?
Nobody understands global 90’s teenage fame like Beavis and Butt-head. As @silverchair began to blow up in the US, I was obsessed with Beavis and Butt-head. A career highlight was when they absolutely roasted my haircut and music while watching the Tomorrow video- in retrospect I think I deserved it.
Beavis and Butt-head felt like school friends to me. In the 90’s I’d religiously watch VHS tapes I’d brought back from US tours I’d done with silverchair. I didn’t leave the house much so sometimes they were the only company I had. To be chilling with them, jamming to Israel’s Son and having a good laugh in the FutureNever is as good as any therapist’s couch.
This isn’t the 60’s dillhole, welcome to FutureNever!

As a counter-strike to scalping scum, I snuck into the exhibition last night and signed some translucent pink FutureNever vinyl to be sold to people who couldn’t make it to Sud City.

Melbourne! Today, Saturday and Sunday- I am signing translucent hot pink, exhibition exclusive FutureNever vinyl from 10am-1pm. We have a set allocation for each day, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
I am truly humbled and appreciative of every one of you for joining me on this FutureNever journey. When my anxiety did not allow me perform live any longer, I was told by many senior people in the industry that my career was over. I refused to accept that that was my reality, so I built my own ecosystem with my visionary friends @bmgausnz
To be here today, with the exhibition doing so well that @rialtomelbourne has extended the run and sitting on a record that has not only become my first #1 solo record but also the longest charting Australian @aria_official Top 10 of 2022 is ALL thanks to you guys.
Thank you to @mattryan for the FrogWash inspiration, thank you to @ebflow for the impromptu laundry shoot at @barrattslaundry that set it all off, thank you to @fingerscrossed_creative for building the impossible Sud City and moving it on a truck from Newcastle to Melbourne, thank you @eddiezammit @angus_kingsmill and my @radiovelvet family for making this dream a reality and finally thank you to @bmgausnz for empowering (and encouraging) me to turn my back on the traditional music industry and build a new one that works for me and not against me.
This signing is a thank you to everyone but also a chance for me to ‘smell the roses’, I did not want to sit in my house as my proudest achievement (the exhibition) rolled on without me properly immersing myself in it.
