My last video (Ukraine Has Changed Warfare FOREVER - An Analysis) really failed to hold folks that watched past the first :30, well below how my videos typically do.

To be honest, I'm really scratching my head trying to figure out why, and want to open this up for anyone here that may have seen it. If you stayed and watched the whole thing, why? If you clicked off quickly, why as well? Wanting to improve each video to make them both as valuable to you as possible (whether through the topic or the information I'm giving) and as quality as possible. Wanting to see which of those (likely both) I failed at or if this is a fluke?

Earlier today I released a short discussing who I am making my videos for, specifically referencing a lot of the comments I’ve received on my latest India - Pakistan video.

BLUF: If you’re able to thrive with nuanced and complex topics, with a devotion to objective analysis, you’re in the right place. If you can’t to that, this isn’t the channel for you.

International Affairs and conflict are inherently political, and I understand that we all (myself included) have our own biases and can get emotional around certain topics. That’s not an excuse to abandon objective reason and pursuit of truth.

I made two videos discussing the India - Pakistan crisis, and both got absolutely blasted by predominantly Indian commentators because I didn’t echo official Indian talking points. As I stated above, if you’re looking for just another propaganda outlet for whatever government you’re sympathetic to, you’re in the wrong place. These commentators are very clearly not my audience, but I do want to reiterate to my audience why I’m making videos.

That said, thank you to everyone who did view and engage with that video, because it has been revealing. Not all of it was negative, but clearly I didn’t give India’s nationalistic base enough credit. Next time I discuss India, I’ll make sure to leave a note at the beginning for y’all to click off, because this channel isn’t for you (unless you’re ready to grow up and act like adults).
