We sold up and bought a narrowboat! After living in Texas for 10 years, we sold almost everything and moved back home to England to live on a narrowboat and cruise the canals of the UK with our westies, exploring so much of our country that we have never seen before. We followed the build of our brand new narrowboat virtually with the amazing guys at Russell Narrowboats, and only got to see her for the first time 2 weeks before we launched in September 2021! We took a leap of faith and it's working out beautifully!

We’ve left the boat and headed back to land!
Don’t worry, it’s only for a couple of weeks though! I’m having surgery to remove my gallbladder on Friday, and we decided the apartment in Whitchurch would be a more comfortable place to recover, with no steps and a little more space to move around while I heal.
Poppy has settled in straight away and reclaimed her favourite spot on the back of the sofa.
Hopefully the surgery goes smoothly and we’ll be back aboard before too long 😊

Hello Refleks diesel stove, goodbye Morso Squirrel multifuel stove! 👋🔥
After weighing up all the pros and cons, we finally decided to make the switch, and installation day arrived right in the middle of a heatwave! We gave the new stove a quick test run to learn how to light it, look after it, and make sure everything was working perfectly, before turning it straight back off again! We are so happy with our choice of finish and love how the copper looks against the brick fireplace.
A huge thank you to Lockgate Stoves for such a professional installation. They made working in such a small space look easy, and everything was left spotless afterwards. Poppy, of course, took her supervisory role very seriously and kept a close eye on proceedings.
Now all we need is some colder weather to really enjoy the benefits, although we’re in no rush for that just yet! 😊

Well that was a rough couple of weeks! We have both been totally floored by bronchitis and felt very sorry for ourselves, but now we are almost back to normal and very thankful! Normal service will be resumed 😂
