Adivasi Lives Matter is a platform that works towards amplifying Adivasi and tribal voices of India. Through Adivasi Awaaz training, we encourage indigenous youths of Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Tripura to talk about their stories about culture, history, community and traditional knowledge.
Adivasi Lives Matter
The soil of Jharkhand still echoes his name.
Budhu Bhagat was not just a leader he was a movement. A fearless tribal warrior who led the Kol Rebellion and the Larka Rebellion against brutal British oppression.
From the villages of Tiko and Silagai, he united Adivasi communities and inspired them to rise for their jal, jangal, zameen and dignity. His resistance was not powered by weapons alone, but by courage, unity, and an unbreakable connection to the land.
Even after witnessing the sacrifice of his own sons, daughters, and hundreds of followers, he refused to surrender. He chose resistance over submission.
In 1832, he attained martyrdom but legends don’t die.
They become the heartbeat of the land they fought for.
