My doctor has put me BACK on Ozempic AGAIN 😩. Between the diabolical effects of the ongoing ā€œexplosive diarrheaā€ (they sure gave it the right name 🤢), it’s going to be a sh*tty situation šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø.

I used Ozempic sometime last year for several weeks before stopping it because the side effects gave me severe nausea and extreme diarrhea…and now I have that to look forward to all over again 🤮.

I did lose about 30 pounds in a short period of time, which was the upside of it, but I had no other options other than to lose weight because I was sick most of the time and I didn’t have much of an appetite most times either.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Robert ā€œPrince Mongoā€ Hodges, an eccentric local character, nightclub owner and frequent political candidate who claimed to be from another planet, has died.

On Monday around 7:40 p.m., Memphis police officers responded to an ambulance call in the 1100 block of Crestwood Drive in East Memphis.

Hodges was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead, MPD said. There were no signs of foul play.

James Cella, who was at the house on Crestwood on Tuesday and said he was a close friend, said Hodges was cutting a branch on a neighbor’s tree limb that was hanging on his property around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

It’s believed he lost his balance and fell into the neighbor’s yard.

He was conscious but stopped breathing. CPR was started and he was taken to Regional One, but he died either en route or at the emergency room, Cella said.

Hodges was known around Memphis by his Prince Mongo persona for decades. He claimed to be from the planet Zambodia, was frequently barefoot and howling at the moon, and wore outlandish clothes, wigs and goggles.

He owned real estate around the city, including the Front Street building that housed his club, Prince Mongo’s Planet, and Ashlee Hall, the landmark Midtown mansion that was home to another club, Prince Mongo’s Castle.

He appeared on ballots for city mayor as recently as 2019, when he came in fourth place.

In the historic 1991 Memphis mayoral election, when Willie Herenton defeated incumbent Dick Hackett by 142 votes out of nearly 248,000 cast, Hodges finished third with roughly 2,900 votes.

ā€œPrince Mongo was instrumental in helping me to become the first elected Black mayor of Memphis. My prayers are with his family,ā€ Herenton commented on Facebook.

Police said Hodges was 89 years old, while other sources said he was 79 — though as Prince Mongo, he claimed to be 333.

He’ll be missed. He’ll be greatly missed by many,ā€ said Cathy Thordarson, whose friendship with Hodges spans decades.

She lives in a house once owned by Prince Mongo, and wishes more people knew the man for who he really was.

ā€œArtistic. He was an artist,ā€ she said. ā€œAt the heart of it he loved people, he loved art and he was, at his heart too, a philanthropist. He did a lot of good for people.ā€

When transformed into Prince Mongo from the planet Zambodia, Hodges always seemed eager to challenge the system, whether while running for mayor of Memphis or defending his club, The Castle, when neighbors and the city labeled the nightclub a nuisance.

ā€œYeah, a little controversial,ā€ Thordarson said. ā€œBut you know what? We need a little bit more of that in life.ā€

Thordarson says her daughter was in the middle of producing a documentary about Hodges, and she is sad a part of Memphis history may never fully be told.

ā€œHe always called everybody ā€˜spirit,’ so ā€˜Fly high, spirit’ is what I keep thinking. I hope he’s having a blast up there,ā€ she said.

Happening TODAY, the Memphis International Airport is officially transitioning its name to Frederick W. Smith International Airport, honoring the late FedEx founder on his 82nd birthday.

This is such a befitting tribute to him considering his pioneering work that’s helped to employ countless people, not just in Memphis, but all over the world and has helped transform the way we transport goods and services for countless millions of people and businesses worldwide.

The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) approved the change to recognize his massive economic impact on the city of Memphis. The Airport Code (MEM) remains unchanged and the change of the name of the airport is effective immediately. Flight bookings and airport functions are unaffected.

In 1973 (just one year before I was born) FedEx was completely broke with only $5,000 left in its bank account, not even enough to fuel the planes for Monday. The founder took the last $5,000, flew to Las Vegas and gambled it all playing blackjack over the weekend. He won $27,000, saved the company, and today FedEx is a multibillion giant. Wow 😳!

Not the golden girl allegedly being arrested for unlawful #gambling while the Pookie’s, Ray Ray and the Junebug’s are running illegal gambling halls (and chop shops) in the hood in peace 😩.

Crime has reached a whole new demographic in Cordova, Tennessee, where deputies allegedly say an 82-year-old retirement community resident was allegedly operating what neighbors are now calling "The Bellagio of Bingo."

According to the police report, Mildred Hensley, 82, allegedly found herself in hot water after administrators at the retirement community discovered she'd allegedly been running a highly organized underground bingo betting ring every Wednesday for nearly two years. Forget casinos in Tunica... if you wanted action, all you had to do was grab a pudding cup and head to Table 6 by the automatic doors.

Residents allegedly say Mildred never missed a game. She'd roll in fifteen minutes early with her lucky dauber, orthopedic shoes, and a chalkboard listing the week's betting odds like she was hosting ESPN's Bingo GameDay. Players could wager on everything from the winning pattern to which number would be called last. Deputies claim she handled nearly $17,800 in cash during the operation, all while somehow keeping better financial records than th Shelby County School system.

Investigators allegedly were reportedly stunned to discover every bet had been carefully tracked inside a spiral notebook with perfectly ruled columns, color-coded notes, and handwriting so neat it could have been used as a government font. She allegedly refused high rollers trying to throw around $100 bills, insisting, "This is a respectable establishment, sir."

Witnesses allegedly say Mildred carried around a Folgers coffee can packed with one-dollar bills because "nobody should have to wait on change," and every winner was paid before anyone made it back to the dessert table. Some residents reportedly described the operation as "the smoothest thing to happen here since they fixed the ice cream machine."

In a shocking display of community solidarity, more than three dozen residents allegedly signed a petition demanding authorities leave their Bingo Queen alone, with one resident reportedly writing, "She may have broken the law, but she never shorted anybody fifty cents."

Allegedly, Shelby County deputies admitted they'd seen plenty of strange things over the years, but this was the first time they'd ever seized a chalkboard, a coffee can full of singles, and a bag of butterscotch candies as evidence.

Mildred allegedly was charged with unlawful gambling before being released, and Wednesday bingo has reportedly been postponed while residents figure out what they're supposed to complain about now.

Just another quiet week in Cordova... where even Grandma apparently has a sportsbook.

Shannon Sharpe and Afroman have started us with a messy Monday relating to a firecracker topic that’s sure to get the water coolers boiling and this would make a very interesting panel discussion between a few Africans and Black Americans.

ā€œI find a lot of Africans arrogant, condescending and disrespectful to Afro-Americans.ā€

He even went further: ā€œThey betrayed us, backstabbed us, sold us,ā€ before criticizing those now living in America and benefiting from the Civil Rights Black Americans fought for.ā€

Artist Afroman is sparking heated debate after saying some Africans come to America and benefit from Civil Rights victories fought for by Black Americans while showing them little respect.

Is Afroman right or is this another tactic to divide people? Your thoughts?

To celebrate what would’ve been Whitney Houston’s 63rd birthday (Wow 😳!), Mattel Creations/Barbie honors the pop icon by releasing the first ever signature Whitney Houston collectible doll that’s available at most retailers, priced at $59.40. I can’t believe that Whitney hasn’t had a signature doll before now 😳. She’s certainly well deserving of it. I love me some Whitney Houston, dead or alive, and she could never do no wrong in my sight. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Whitney ā¤ļø!

What is it lately with these celebrities and their dogs mauling people šŸ™„ ? Apparently being mauled by a celebrity’s dog is very lucrative and a lot of people, and a dog, have been cashing in on being bitten.

Singer Ne-Yo is facing a lawsuit from a delivery driver who claims she was mauled by his dog at his Georgia home on July 12th, 2025. Plaintiff Dominique Bridgett is seeking $9,039.50 in medical expenses, along with damages for pain and suffering.

Not long ago it was Tyrese Gibson whose 4 Cane Corso dogs escaped their Buckhead estate in Atlanta and were running around in his neighborhood and mauled a neighbor’s 5 year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog named ā€œHenryā€. Tyrese surrendered to the Fulton County Jail on October 3, 2025, facing an animal cruelty charge following the September 18, 2025 incident and he was released on a $20,000 bond.

And most recently, a Los Angeles jury ordered Chris Brown and his company, Black Pyramid LLC, to pay nearly $13 million in damages to a former housekeeper, Maria Avila, who was brutally mauled and permanently disfigured by a 200-pound Caucasian shepherd named ā€œHadesā€ at his Tarzana, California home in December 2020.

Kiara Bowling is fighting for her life after being hit by a car driven by UNDERAGE KIDS - two young brothers, ages 4 and 7 😳🄺, who were also injured in the incident.

WHERE WERE THE PARENTS 😔😤 ????

The incident took place August 6, 2026 when the two brothers struck Kiara Bowling in a Toyota sedan while she was walking a dog on the sidewalk on 35th Avenue in Oakland.

It’s a sad day on the earth when this woman can’t even walk a dog in peace šŸ˜¤šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø. And the dog is probably someone still shaking and traumatized .

Kiara is currently being treated at Highland Hospital suffering from a brain bleed 🤯, facial fractures and will require MULTIPLE surgeries.

The older brother broke BOTH legs and the younger brother sustained a concussion and the parents are cooperating with police in this investigation.

Kiara’s family says she has suffered LIFELONG injuries 🄹. This is diabolical and it’s crazy how the irresponsible choices of these parents have turned a woman’s life and a dog’s life upside down in a matter of seconds. Wow!
