Yesterday, I enabled YouTube to check the notification bell, and got hit with the new age restriction. I definitely understand why child safety is a concern on this platform. This doesn't seem *as* bad as the COPPA response, and possibly slightly less intrusive than the "advanced features" verification prompt a couple years ago, but it's still suspect - especially with all YouTube should have already seen (or does something preventing it from using old/wider sources of data?), the partner company for ID verification, and when this is happening. I'm definitely not complying with that any time soon, so we'll see what happens.
A couple questions for people who've dealt with this: Does the uploaded ID have to match the name in your account? I recall that being required with past prompts. Did your YouTube app end up bugging out? My phone's instance went unusable across accounts, though I question how related that was, especially since it's normal today.


Half-related... there were many reasons I'd wanted to put more online, plenty that would conflict in time, but a good chunk was the opportunity to make things 'last' better than I could or would offline. That said, I initially made this account for security. Further into the 2020s, especially after... probably Spring 2024, these interests have conflicted frequently. On one hand, what's here survived while much more of the past hasn't, and the account's still important for interacting with various people/communities. On the other, there's quite a bit I don't stand by (it would also be nice to separate childhood from adulthood, though that's tangential), much of the effort to be known has become a regret, and especially with "AI" being pushed into everything, it feels like I don't do enough.
So, this is a heads-up. Recent years (mostly 2024) changed a lot, but if matters continue in this direction, there's a good chance "Cyanic Core" will either become further personal, or further vanish.

P.S. Wait, this is across all of Google!? I got an email implying that today... Well, that's interesting. It's possibly more good than bad for me, if it's really going to end personalized advertisements. It's still ridiculous.

Halfway through June... I hoped to have much more together by now, but that's hardly the case. Among other matters, I don't have any plans to record or stream (or play) Deltarune's new chapters. With that in mind, as well as regret about not saying anything when the ARG returned, I'd like to shout out some people I know do.

My bro ‪@J14theghost‬ has started uploaded the first part of Chapter 3. ‪@NovemberJoy‬, someone who's been a good friend the past couple years, has just finished streaming Chapter 3 and will likely move on to Chapter 4 very soon. There's someone else I wanted to mention, but the @ won't come up... strange.

That's likely all for now. If offline life gets a little clearer I may rework some of the playlists on the Home Tab. Cya!

Am I obligated to keep making intros like in the recent videos? On one hand, they're nice-ish, and help tie together the different videos on this channel. On the other, trying to figure those out means uploading even less, and many series don't have a full symbol for their logo. Improvising them like with the Mega Man X videos can go against one of their original purposes - to show respect for the different series.

I unlisted the last Frontiers clip yesterday because, after some thought, just uploading an Extreme run of that boss doesn't feel good enough. A potential replacement was recorded today, but I'm unsure whether to keep trying, especially with tomorrow being a holiday.

Edit: It doesn't help that I accidentally overwrote the Hard file... again.

I mentioned this on stream, but should do so here as well:

Multiple franchises (Dragon Ball, Sonic, Mario) I'm interested in are putting out huge releases, and frankly, I'm not ready for them. After getting recommended spoilers next to every video I click on, including my own, I decided to stop signing in here for a while, unless it's needed. If I've recently stopped showing up somewhere, or missed a comment, or appear later than usual - this is why.

Remaining Plans:

I've been waiting to stream Sonic Frontiers for quite a while, and had some time to start, but this will be pushed back to at least September. I've waited over a year to do the DLC right, and I can't guarantee that right now.

There's another Sonic video that's simple on the editing side I want to put out by then or before. It's basically finished, but I've wanted to deal with my personal issues first and/or finish new intros. I accomplished something else in a game I've shown much less here (FighterZ), but that could end up with a lot more editing. That could take a while longer to finish, and I'd prefer to upload these videos near the same time as part of a batch, particularly so anyone coming across them channel has a good idea of what to expect. This is also one of the reasons I've held off on some I'd promised longer ago, like updated Mario Galaxy levels.

All of the Inverted Fate fights have been re-recorded for one issue or another, though I'd want to wait for the next or even final fight to come out so all of them can be uploaded as one video.


As always, I'll try to do any requested ideas as well, provided they're either with games I have a way to record or relatively cheap.

I think one of my biggest problems as a person is overcommiting to things that should be simple, expecting more to come out of it. That's not just about this channel, but describes a good chunk of it.
