It’s trending.

But for me,

it’s not a trend.

I say 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 because that’s exactly what a company is.

Not just operations.

Not just tech.

Not just product.

𝗜𝗧’𝗦 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘.

I remember the outrage when Mitt Romney said,

“𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲.”

He wasn’t wrong.

The problem is,

𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙞𝙩.

They forget that 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 are the innovation,

the operations,

the ideas,

and the income.

We are why companies exist.

But where it all breaks down?

People aren’t 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆.

They’re 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 by it.

They’re 𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙙 for it.

But they’re rarely 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 in it.

That’s where HR

or 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲

must step in as a third-party operator,

𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚.

And the only way to 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 if that’s really happening?

𝘌𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.

Not sentiment.

Not assumptions.

Not “best practices.”

𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘴.

𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺.

𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘴.

If you’re calling it a 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙮

but not evaluating the impact on your people

you don’t have a strategy.

You have a slogan.
