Greetings to ostomates and those following my journaling content! I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has left a kind comment on my videos. Unfortunately, some individuals can be unpleasant. I choose not to engage with negativity, as those remarks hold no significance. This negativity makes me consider removing my videos, but then someone shares how my content provided them comfort before surgery or in a similar situation. Because of this, I have decided not to remove anything, regardless of how self-conscious I may feel about it. These supportive individuals inspire me to continue sharing my experiences with diverticulitis and living with a colostomy bag. That being said, it has been a while since I posted any medical-related content. It is not that I lack information to share, but I sometimes question whether it would be helpful. Nonetheless, I plan to create more videos in the hope that they may assist others. Until then, take care!

I tried to record and post a video today, and after 2 failed attempts, I'm conceding! The universe must be telling me something. Either way, here is what I planned on putting out.

Back in January, I made myself sick unintentionally with MiraLAX! MiraLAX almost took me to the ER lol. Starting Jan 1, I incorporated MiraLAX into my everyday diet. Well, already lacking the water I should be drinking, I didn't increase water when I started with the Mirlax.

I was using a full cap with 16 oz of water just to get it down. But I would drink water throughout the day. Over 2 weeks, I started to feel off. Mid-vacation, I became ill. I started with a horrible stomachache, fever, and chills, and I was very tired. I felt dehydrated. It took about 6 days to feel better. So, I cut off MiraLAX for now. I do think it is helpful and a great way to keep it moving lol, but I really need to work on drinking more water and eating during the day.

I can't with the antibiotics, and I definitely do not want a colostomy bag, so I am trying to do what is right, but it's not easy!

With all that being said, I am very grateful and lucky to ONE be alive! Two can have a colostomy bag save my life! Three had a successful reversal!

But it comes with its own set of challenges. Like acid reflux! I take a pill for it daily. but sometimes, it can still cause an issue like this morning, for example

At about six am, I woke up because of it. so I partially sat up and drank some water to get the acid down so I could get some sleep before needing to get up for work. I did the job well enough... so, I thought.

7:40 I am in the shower and bent down/forward, and I felt this ball of acid try and come up... which hurt. The acid hitting my throat hurt... I was trying not to throw up, which caused more gagging... It was awful. I managed not to vomit full-on because if I did, I would have busted blood vessels around my eyes, and having to work a full 8-hour day was not ideal. or cute!

I felt gross and tired all day, and my throat is somewhat irritated! All because maybe I ate too late and did not have enough water. Not sure.

The point of this video was basically just to say drink plenty of water when taking MiraLAX and to be careful. I want the quality of what time I have left to not be consumed with feeling sick if I can help it. There is so much going on out in the world, and this isn't nothing compared to 99.99% of it, but here it is.

If you made it this far and actually read the entire post, you best be subscribed! Clearly, you're vested enough, right? HAHA or not

Anyways, thank you so much! Oh, the second reason for my post is that I am going back to BUJO next year as my primary planner, and I purchased the official Bullet Journal Edition X. It arrived today and looks amazing!

Hit the LIKE button if you wish me well and want to see the bullet journal or IGNORE if you hate puppies and kittens!
The choice is yours.

This channel's main focus is sharing my journey with diverticulitis and the 4 surgeries I have experienced because of it.

Today marks 3 years since the surgery that started it all! Thinking about putting together a quick video sharing my experience with this particular surgeon. The things I wish I knew. What I would have done differently?

Surgery #1 was a section of my colon removed due to diverticulitis. Suffered in silence (mostly) for about 2 decades until I collapsed, literally. Fun times!

It can come back! So that's scary but it is what is it. Do I feel symptoms sometimes?! Possibly?! Do I want to look into... Fkkkk no!

So please like this message and consider hitting the subscribe button!

Thanks!

Hi everyone!! I hope you are doing well! I am struggling a bit. I Been, dare I say it, haven't been feeling well and it's sort of reminding me of days when I was going through a flare-up. Trying to not go down the rabbit hole and self-diagnose so focusing on what I need to do. One of them is fiber! My enemy lol anyways I need your help...

Is fiber a part of your daily diet? If so what's your process? How much? How often? Pills, powder, gummies, certain foods or fruits? A mix?

Any advice for anyone who has little to no appetite in the day? I've always struggled with this and is not good. Eating when not hungry for me is murder lol but I thought like a smoothie or idk

At this point, I'm not contacting a doctor. It's not at that level. Could have been the flu. Certain pains come with having all these surgeries.

Yeah, it can be rough but I'm still grateful for my health condition and the fact I was able to have a reversal.

Someone was kind enough to leave a comment with some of their incredible story experiences and advice which is invaluable!! And it reminded me of how lucky I been.
Thank you again for sharing!!

Almost 300 subscribers by the way which is so awesome! Been thinking about posting a video but not sure... like if you would like one?

Wow you made it this far!! Thank you!

Take care yall!

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great start to the new year.

Haven't made a video on diverticulitis in a while but had some thoughts I wanted to get off my chest.

I had an interesting conversation today with someone whose mother was diagnosed with diverticulitis.

It got me thinking a lot about it coming back and what that could mean. In my experience thus far, the worst that can happen... has happened. Ok that's dramatic but we just got started.... hold on tight...

So I'm expecting, at some point in my life, for it to come back and end up with a bag/stoma. Which the thought of I instantly get this hard lump in my throat and want to bawl my eyes out. But don't.

I've made improvements & implemented some practices and tried to remain consistent. But it's hard.

But if it does come back I don't want to think to myself " I could have done better".

So I'm going to keep trying and just hope for the best. I could do absolutely everything right and it still could come back! But I could also step outside and get hit by a car so who knows.

Anyways thanks for listening to my gibberish. If you made it this far.

Take care ❤️
