Hella Schway
I watched Late Night With the Devil today and it was… underwhelming. I got my hopes up higher than I usually do for movies because the trailer really sucked me in and I had to wait a while for it to get on Shudder.
In my mind I guess I was expecting it to be a lot more found footage style rather than a lost tape kind of film. Honestly it takes a bit from both but it doesn’t go all the way with either.
Now I absolutely LOVED the aesthetic of the movie. It really did feel like I was watching an old talk show from the 70s. The visuals were great and I’m a sucker for retro effects.
Was the movie scary? No not really. The “worms scene” probably made me the most uncomfortable and I was glad they used practical effects.
There were a few cgi effects that were honestly pretty poorly done that really took me out of the scenes but I looked past them to enjoy the film
I might do a video diving deeper into this one but we shall see.
All in all I did have a good time watching this even if it didn’t live up to my expectations
