Some of you know I enjoy gold prospecting around our area. My friend Scott ‪@bentforkprospecting‬ printed me up a Batea pan with our logo and images on it. I also won a Maverick gold pan from him as well. Scotti included a number of other things that he printed up including a Golden Wiener Dog. Thank you Scott. I love it all my friend. Hope you guys get a chance to come up and visit sometime.

Hello Everyone. Due to a miss step in the snow last night I am down for a bit. Was walking along on top of the snow and the next step it caved in and I went to my hip and jarred my lower left side of my back. I am going to take a number of days bed rest and do my stretches to see if I can ease this up before I head to a Dr. It hurts to sit in a chair so I will not be able to edit so I am not sure if a video will be out this week or not. I will keep you all updated. Thanks for your. understanding. Much love to you all.

Aska An Alaskan Podcast Feb 1st 2026. Special Guest Chip Hailstone from Life Below Zero. Here is a little info about Chip

Chip (Edward) Hailstone grew up in North West Montana. Chip worked as a ranch/farm hand and enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends. In 1988 Chip came to South East Alaska and decided to move to Alaska. In 1989 Chip went to the Arctic to visit his mother and brother.

Chip attended school to be an Auto mechanic , when he left school he went to work in a gold mine. The gold mine work was seasonal and Chip decided to hang out in the around in the off season and started trapping, hunting and fishing and had a blast doing it.

Chip met his wife Agnes in Kotzebue and a few years later they got married. Later in life Chip and Agnes became regulars on the hit TV show Life Below Zero. Chip and Agnes showed so many of us a very different way of life.

Want to know more about the Hailstones? Come join us for the next episode of Ask An Alaskan. Line up your questions now for Chip. Agnes may also join but I am not 100 % sure as of yet.
