Mistakes were Primed

Mistakes Were Primed is a Warhammer 40,000 miniature painting channel built around enjoying the hobby and slowly getting better at it.

The channel started as a way to get more out of painting expensive miniatures. Recording the process forces me to slow down, look at my own habits, and catch mistakes I’d normally gloss over. It’s less about perfection and more about learning through self-critique.

This isn’t a tutorial channel, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers. It’s just one hobbyist painting, experimenting with color and light, fixing things that didn’t work, and trying to be a little better than the day before.

I tend to paint Chaos more often, but the channel isn’t locked to any one faction. If it looks interesting or feels fun to paint, it’s fair game.

If you enjoy relaxed hobby content, honest progress, and watching someone learn in real time, you’re welcome here.

Mistakes were Primed

I'm making my through the Champions of Slaanesh box, focusing on improving my technique. However, I can see finishing the WHOLE box without a break might cause a bit of burn out.

I bought a Nemesis Claw Kill Team box for a steal a few months ago, I have an idea about drying brushing silver over black primer then finished the armor with blue speed paint/contrast paint. I have very little experience using speed paint/contrast paint so I'm curious to try.

My goal is to experiment with different techniques and methods, not necessarily the most lore accurate paint job. Any thoughts?

Mistakes were Primed

I'm debating whether to repaint my Lord Exultant. I painted him a few months ago and in that short time I feel like I've really found my method for painting. I bougth the Champions of Slaneesh box last summer and have yet to start it because I've been unsatisfied with my paint scheme. However I do have a tendency to "delete" my paint jobs because I over think things. What do you think?
