Rare Metal Albums
Ok, ladies and gentlemen. The first day of spring, time for changes, but not all changes are occurring in a positive way. I decided to put the channel on hold. What does that mean? I will no longer publish the videos. In the next days-weeks-months I’ll update the channels page on YT, Insta and FB according to its current status. Also, I wanted to end my work with metal subgenres, some videos have not correct genres, so I wanted to update the playlists.
There are 2 main reasons why I stopped working with the channel, and they are heavily bound together.
1st reason – the channel is not profitable. The donations are not even covering the electric bills I pay. The electricity in Germany is an expensive thing. There are some things I will not sacrifice when I make the videos, like video quality (QHD) or simple animations of background and titles. My GTX1060 with the CUDA option has worked hard these years to deliver good and modern looking content. It renders fast, but at the cost of high power consumption. I'm used to doing everything well, so if I create the video, this is not a static cover art on a black background, I left those types of things in 2017.
2nd reason – YT algorithms. What makes Youtube with their algorithms really frustrates me. Remember when the channel got banned in March 2024? Some things were not recovered properly, like „Youtube search“(„Search terms used by viewers on YouTube to find your content.“) or „external“ sources („Traffic from websites and apps that embed your videos or link to your videos on YouTube.“). But what happened in July makes me sad. YT corrected the „Suggested videos“ („Views from suggestions appearing alongside or after other videos.“) algorithms. Channel’s videos are now almost invisible for new listeners, who click on the right row and want to watch something similar. Due to this "nerf", I lost significant monthly views/subscribers.
I mentioned in my post from March 2024 that YT doesn't want to monetize the music channels with full albums and similar stuff. But as I understand, they change the algorithms to force you to abandon the channel and make something new.
Is there any chance that the channel will be active again? Maybe yes, maybe not. Maybe in the future, in 10 years, I'll decide to resurrect the channel, but knowing that YT makes everything worse, there’s no chance that I’ll come back.
I wanted to thank all of my subscribers who stayed with the channel through these years, watched, and commented on the videos. Special thanks to people who supported the channel on Ko-fi, you really helped me to pay the bills! Also, thanks to all of the bands who wrote to me for publishing purposes. That was a breath of fresh air in my uploads because I tended to publish old albums from the 90s-00s.
