The album is out!! 🙌

I feel very grateful this morning towards so many people that have been ever present in bringing “the summer isles” to life, Leafy Outlook for making it happen, Josh Flowers, Sam Glazebrook, Ross Dorkin who feel like brothers by now! And so many friends Charlie Schnurr, Ellie Mason, Bella Franks, Sam Brown, Sean Hatton, Miles Peckover and others who have brought their musicality and personality alongside in memorable ways. Beetle Rhind for this billboard! 📸 My twin sister Debs for the really beautiful artwork, my family and mrs for their support (and inspiring so many of the thoughts on the album), god for music in the first place!

I’m hoping you really enjoy it! It’s an anecdotal record, full of little stories and moments that have taken place in this past season of writing.

So, happy listening. Hopefully see you in June for the shows, and don’t forget you can now order the vinyl from the website! And..if you fancy a cap 🧢 they’re ready to go too 👍

It’s out! (Long caption alert 🚨)

One of the more eclectic tracks on the album, a cocktail made out of a drum loop on an old organ we found one morning in the studio, and a bit of a jam!

Most of the time emotions feel like a deep and complex thing to unpack in lyrics, but sometimes you have those childlike moments where the curtains are pulled back and you’re just struck with the simplicity of a thought or feeling. In that sense this song is deliberately simple, like a colouring in book, less fountain pen and more messy crayons 🖍

I remember finding “Samalaman bay” by accident with Sam and josh in remote Scotland. To my amazement the sea was turquoise, the sand was coral white, and there was no one there. It felt like a little corner of the Caribbean just for us on the west coast of Scotland! I also found the name fun to say 😂. We went for a swim to a little island, I got chased by a crab and basically just remember feeling simple as a kid, after the long drawn out complications of that past couple of years.

I wanted to capture that feeling in the song. Beautiful places have a way of illuminating or reminding me of the other beautiful things to be grateful for in life, and I also remember sitting there on the beach thinking about loved ones and wishing they could be there too.

'Letter to the boy' is now out.

This song was a creation mainly from Scotland where we did a little writing/recording trip. The beach here in the artwork is called “Samalaman bay” - a name you may be hearing again down the line!

“ARCADIA” now out! Hope you have a happy Friday!

Arcadia as a word in literature has long been used to describe a sort of ideal existence of harmony with nature, the world and inner peace, a place of dreams, dating back to ancient writers such as Virgil. It’s often used in contrast to the world we see around us - So this song is a little discussion about reality and idealism.

Thanks Ross Dorkin for producing this track and playing bass 🎸! And Deborah Panes for the beautiful artwork! And of course Sam Galzebrook for the amazing video.
