Introducing the Solo Satoshi Web Flasher.
Today we're releasing the first web flasher that installs Bitaxe, NerdAxe, and custom firmware from one browser-based tool. No software installation required, no command lines needed, and you don't need an account.
Key features:
- Official firmware only. Releases come directly from the official Bitaxe and NerdAxe ESP-Miner projects.
- SHA-256 checked twice. Each release is checked against its published SHA-256 digest when we process it and again in your browser before anything is written to your miner.
- Matched to your hardware. Firmware is filtered by model and board revision, so you only see releases built for your device. That includes compatible rollback versions.
- Settings preservation. You can choose to keep your existing Wi-Fi, pool and device settings during verified updates.
- Automatic restart. Your miner restarts on its own once installation is complete.
Custom firmware for developers and advanced users
The Advanced tool installs your own compiled ESP32-S3 firmware. Fork ESP-Miner, change and tune it to fit how you mine, and flash it straight from the browser. Your file is processed locally and is never uploaded.
Open source under GPLv3:
The complete source code is public for anyone to inspect, fork and improve:

Requirements:
A current desktop version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Brave.

Cypherpunks write code. Satoshi wrote it in 2009.
"Running bitcoin." Two words. No exchange, no app, no custodian, no permission.
Seventeen years later most people who say they hold bitcoin have never run a single line of it.
We built the Sovereign Bitcoin Starter Package for the ones who want to run the full stack:
✔️ Bitaxe Gamma: your miner. Open-source firmware & hardware design.
✔️ Start9 Server One: your node. Your own rules, open-source software & operating system.
✔️ Blockstream Jade Classic: your keys. Air-gapped, open-source firmware & hardware.
No trusted third party anywhere in the loop. Every line auditable. Every device 100% yours.
Sovereignty is not a slogan, it is the hardware that you own and control.

With open source mining firmware being a hot topic lately, there seems to be a severe misunderstanding of how licensing protects the work of contributors and the community.
ESP-Miner and AxeOS are licensed GPLv3. That often gets described as a control mechanism, but it's quite the opposite.
The license does one thing: it keeps the source open when the code changes hands.
Under private use, there is nothing required. Your changes and customization are yours, and they stay that way as long as you want.
The one requirement applies at distribution. Sell or distribute hardware with modifications preloaded and you publish the source alongside it. That person then has what you had, which is working code they can read and build on.
This is why home mining has a learning curve people can actually climb. Every improvement to ESP-Miner stays readable, which means the next person does not start from zero. They start from working code written by someone who solved the problem first. Frequency tuning, thermal handling, Stratum behavior, power curves. All of it is out in the open to study, question, and improve.
It is also why the pace of improvement has been what it is. Hundreds of contributors have shipped features into this firmware because the ceiling on contributing is reading the code rather than signing an agreement. Closed firmware caps innovation at whatever one company decides to fund. Open firmware does not have that ceiling.
Open firmware keeps mining itself transparent. You can verify what your hardware is doing. Where it points, what it reports, what it sends. Nobody has to take that on trust, which is the whole principle the network runs on. Don't trust, verify applies to the firmware too.
The GPLv3 is not a limit on hobbyists or tinkerers. It is what keeps community work from being taken, closed, and sold back.

Home mining manufacturer Bitfortun got caught padding the hashrate on the BS-1's display by 400 GH/s.
The only reason anyone found out is because they published the source.
Closed-source firmware requires trust.
