"The Remarried Empress" is the Korean drama adaptation of the Webtoon of the same title.

Gwan Shik didn't have riches, but he gives everything he has to Ae Sun–and that itself is more than any chaebol could offer. He literally gives her all he has, even going as far as trying to provide things he doesn’t possess.

Park Bo Gum's character isn’t the typical rich chaebol male lead; in fact, he isn’t even an office worker with a stable income. Yang Gwan Shik is a fisherman who struggles to find work because his relationship with Ae Sun (IU) is frowned upon by their families. Despite this, he goes out of his way to make sure Ae Sun never feels lacking.

This makes you wonder if a man like Gwan Shik is even more fictional than the chaebols often seen in romcoms. Or at least makes you believe that, maybe, a love like this could actually exist in real life.

Yang Gwan Shik, greenest of all green flags. 🍀
