I make documentary-style videos about '80s metal bands. This is all my own research and personal opinion. Nothing should be taken as cold, hard fact. I do as much research as possible given what's available but ultimately, this is all just to the best of my knowledge. If I've gotten something wrong, PLEASE correct me. If you love an album I didn't particularly like, maybe there's something I missed. School me back!
NOTE: All music and video rights belong to the respective owners, not me. This channel is only to promote these bands and their music and to give an overview of a few well known bands as well as some who might not get as much attention as they deserve anymore.

Hey Metal Class! Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for the support and interest in these videos, and keeping the history of heavy metal alive. You guys helped me get my first short with a million views over the weekend, so that was pretty awesome. Check out the Ozzy Osbourne Pepsi Twist commercial I posted if you haven't already. Classic.
Also, if you enjoy these videos and wanna support the channel and also join in on selecting upcoming bands, consider checking out the Metal School Patreon. It's insanely affordable and it goes a long way in helping me continue doing creating this content. Plus, we get to talk about heavvvyyy mettallll! <guitar solo>

RIP Ozzy Osbourne
(1948-2025)
While he'll always be known for helping to pioneer darker, heavier music, the Prince of Darkness brought far more light into this world. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on for generations.

Next video should be out soon! So keep an eye out over the next day or two (barring any unforeseen copyright issues). Appreciate all you guys and keep the suggestions coming!
Also, if you wanna help support the channel, feel free to visit the Patreon page: www.patreon.com/MetalSchool136 These videos take a lot of time to make and I can't monetize them because of all the song clips I use. Nothing describes a band like their own music and I think that aspect is an integral part of analyzing a band's history and discography in my videos. But aside from that, the Patreon page allows me to get to know you guys a little more too which is awesome. Either way, love you all and hope ya'll dig the next video!

Just in case you missed it, the video for one of Japan's greatest metal bands is up. If you don't know Anthem, check 'em out now and thank me later! They're unbelievably consistent across their entire career and deserve more attention than they get in the states. But I've heard that my videos haven't been popping up lately, even for subscribers, so just putting out another notice to let y'all know a new video is up and ready to melt your ears! Leave a comment and a like too and let's boost this one if we can!

English lyrics... do ya need 'em?
I was reading an article today about how English is the common language of heavy metal. And while that's obviously true, there are a few bands I've gotten into over the years that don't sing in English, either at all or very little (I still plan on subjecting you guys to a Wild Strawberries video one of these days). Still, if you were to ask me what the biggest non-English heavy metal band is, I'd have a hard time answering. Rammstein maybe? And it certainly seems to be a requirement with many major record labels. So I get it. But what do you think? Can you get into a band if they don't sing in English? No wrong answer!

Cell phones at concerts... what do you think?
Personally, I think you get more out of a show by actually watching and engaging with the performance, rather than watching through a screen. But if someone wants to experience a concert that way, then I don't care what they do. What bugs me more is trying to watch a show myself when there are a hundred little tv screens in my field of vision distracting me from whatever I've paid upwards of $100 to see. But I also understand that it's a different time and that's just what people do now, especially a younger crowd who never experienced a time before cell phones.
I'll also say that I think the burgeoning music video directors have kinda ruined it for all the other people who just want to take some pics during a concert, or maybe record just part of a song. But instead, the people who are out there zooming and panning and recording the entire concert have led to some bands outright banning cellphones from shows. What do you think? Great idea or pain in the ass? Don't let my opinion sway you one way or the other.
Anytime this debate comes up, it reminds me of the part in Almost Famous where William is about to take notes while watching his first Stillwater concert, and Penny Lane stops him and is like, 'just watch the show.'
