In non-bridge related news, it's been a thrill hearing from folks who have been playing Trickarus!
Check out this latest video recorded by a popular board game reviewer: www.youtube.com/shorts/Q2pVyW...

It has meant so much to hear from so many LBOers who bought a copy to play with their friends and family. Thank you!!! I'm working to produce more copies now and hope to have a new batch ready in May.

Thank you for for all of your support!

Bridge-adjacent news from Bajir: I've been designing a trick-taking card game and after a year+ of play-testing, tinkering, and collaborating with the wonderful artists, the test copy just came!

'Trickarus' is a new trick-taking card game of flying, flipping, & trying not to soar into the hot, hot sun.

🖌️ by tansandesign.jp. Coming to the Kyoto & Tokyo Game Markets Fall '24. I'm nervous and excited. Please wish us luck!

We're gonna make our 4♠ contract and we have a good shot at picking up an extra trick or two. But how should we choose between our side suits and how much should we do before drawing trumps or afterwards?

Should we go for a finesse in diamonds or set up our cubs for some ruffing? Leave a comment below to share your thinking.

So many of us bridge learners really stress out when we have to defend against 1NT. There is so much to keep track of, remembering what's been played in all four suits and with tricks being won from both partnerships.

It can be helpful to remember that so many players also feel intimidated playing as declarer in 1NT! Sometimes, it can be helpful to just focus on sending the ping pong ball.... I mean, the lead... back to their side of the table.

Next in our series taught by Antara Keelor, learn about the rule of 44 in bridge!

These principles were proposed by Marty Bergen, even though he never named it “Rule of 44”. It’s a neat and easy way to remember though – when you have a strong hand, count your losers and quick tricks. With a maximum of 4 losers and a minimum of 4 quick tricks – open your hand with 2C!
