In episode 2 of our "Lab values explained" series, we will look at the significance of the CRP value.

The C-reactive protein, short CRP, is formed in the liver and is part of the body's defense system. In addition to the number of leukocytes and the blood sedimentation rate, CRP is an important parameter in inflammation, infection or rheumatic disease. CRP is not specific for a particular disease. However, the level of the CRP increase allows a conclusion regarding the severity of the underlying disease.

Episode 1: Lab values for diabetes diagnostics
Diabetes is one of the most widespread diseases worldwide. Currently, approximately 537 million people between the ages of 20 and 79 are living with diabetes. People from low- and middle-income countries are particularly affected. In the first episode of " Lab values explained", we look at the laboratory values that are used to diagnose and monitor this disease.
