Thanks for 3 years! Started uploading more consistently this past month as I finally settled down in my new place, hopefully I can keep this going… And as I have promised to be transparent when I started this channel - it’s also because I got remonetized, which naturally raised my motivation to clip.

This past year VSpo! saw an addition of 4 new members: Kokage, Yuuhi, Moka, Hanabi. This makes 23 members! To think I started this channel when they had 14 (I started a few months after Ema Runa). Besides Kokage, the rest of the new members are not even FPS-centric anymore. This is probably what they call a meta change…

This also marks 1 year since the LoL brainrot started (thanks k4sen). There were some tourneys like VSai 6 and ASGS, but APEX generally stayed dead especially after the end of ShibuHal Customs. Bar a few tourneys here and there, even Valo is dying (cue to Akarin and Ramucchi being stuck in the forest). Besides LoL, SF6 somehow became the mainstream game, and Moka is insanely good at it – probably the best any VSpo! member is at their respective main game.

On large-scale events like VCR - I wonder how many of you were there during Sutosaba RUST S1, when it wasn’t even named VCR lol (and the organizer got cancelled, don’t even know where he is these days). Back then I thought such a server is the single greatest idea mankind can come up with, but since then such servers have been popping up left and right, reducing a bit of its kino-ness. Having said that VCR GTA3 was still kino, so can’t complain there…

Finally, as I have no other place to say this, please allow me to give a gentle reminder at risk of sounding snobbish – more things happen that goes unclipped than those that are (especially so if you only watch English clips). For example, I see people surprised that Beni doesn’t understand lewd words because she’s the “sexy representative” – if you watch her zatsudans you’d know she’s just a country bumpkin that pretends to be sexy. There’s nothing wrong with only watching clips at all, but please try to not reduce the Vtubers into a character trope because of what you saw in a clip once. And this goes without saying, but I’m honestly quite tired that there still are comments going “ooh forbidden knowledge roommate past-life etc etc” under my clips. It’s going to be 2025 soon, everyone who wants to know can Google themselves, you don’t have to be so annoying in my channel (obviously I’ll delete if I see).

This is my third year writing this anniversary post, and every time I say I’m probably the oldest VSpo! clipping channel still somewhat active. A little anecdote – apparently Arya (EN) got to know of VSpo! because of my clip (specifically the Beni stepping on dog pee one, which wasn’t even a clip that did good numbers). That makes me very happy, and if I may, a bit proud of myself – to know that something the irresponsible university student started on a whim 3 years ago can, in the littlest of ways, help shape the VSpo! today.

I say every year I’m not doing this for the money, but I am also honest enough to say I quite like money. If you have enjoyed my clips for the past 3 years, consider donating at:

VSpo! anime announced to be in the works, estimated to complete by end of 2025

Director:
Hirano Hiroki (director of Mushoku Tensei S2)

Assistant director:
Mori Kouta (key animation in quite a number of popular shows, gaining fame recently especially for ED of Frieren Ep.21 - did KA for the rather famous mages vs Fake Frieren cut: https://www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/250224)

Character designer:
Nagano Yuudai (key animation and was the ED for episode 4 of the recent - and excellent - show Mahoaku)

Studio:
PINE JAM (a bit of a surprise for me, what happened to your own studio Unei1...), actually a great studio though. Do It Yourself! is a highly acclaimed niche favourite, and Himesama Goumon was great as well.

Now to the main point: they are basically crowdfunding now through this STUDIO MEMBERS program. The membership fee is 33000JPY/year, and by joining you get:
- access to early premiere
- your name appears in the credits
- recording script for first episode
- KA collection book
- STUDIO MEMBERS card (just a card)
- early access to new info

And most importantly, there's going to be the versions of dubbing: one by pro seiyuus and one by the VSpo members. Only STUDIO MEMBERS can view the second version (by members). Basically they wanted to reach a larger audience so needed a pro seiyuu version but wanted to retain the SOUL so there's another layman version by the members.

Another interesting thing I want to note: they specifically say that this anime isn't made under a production committee like conventional TV anime. They claimed that they wanted to do the direction in-house (a very abnormal request), but managed to find creators and a studio that agreed to go along with it, so this is a very special case in anime production indeed.

P.S.: Sawashiro Miyuki for Beni pls Unei1

Brave Group officially announced the establishment of their animation company, Brave Pictures. Hoshi-san (Unei-1) is the representative director from Brave for the new subsidiary company (in a step to finally fulfill his VSpo! anime dream?). The article below claims that the Vspo! group cover MVs and the EN announcement PVs are all produced by them (credited as Virtual Entertainment). The animation itself is actually done by outsourced studios like AtoriE, Quad and Soigne though.

Interestingly, one of the directors of Brave Pictures is Ogawa Yuuki, director of cultured anime such as Ishuzoku Reviewers, Miru Tights, Getsuyoubi no Tawawa 2 and Mieruko-chan... what a legend.

Also if you're curious how Unei-1 looks like, he's the one standing on the far right in the picture in the link below lol
His name and face are public knowledge, and Beni even made an inside joke based on his name in the Overcooked collab some time ago.
