Just wanted to say sorry for the lack of uploads lately y'all, i've been extremely locked in with streaming, specifically to get the world record in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, the game I made the video on and today I finally got it with 27:45 :)
I know it can still be improved but it's an absolutely brutal game at top level. Thanks to all the runners who came before me for paving the way, otherwise this run would not have been possible.
Anyway I know all of my update posts include "sorry for not posting" but I really mean it every time. I feel like I can always be more efficient but I have a lot of stuff going on in my life. For the video making process, writing is something i struggle with and I'm working my way through this next one. It's a big project and I think you guys will love it when it comes out
If any of you guys were ever wondering what happened to Any% after ERA V of my Jak series, I highly recommend checking out this video made by Xyphles! It's a really great video breaking down the crazy skips we use to beat Jak 3 in under 20 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QlB1...
..Aaand I promise that's enough Jak 3 for a little while haha - I said I would be releasing a new video here in May but I am still working on the script, and I'm feeling a bit burnt out after finishing the Jak series. Sorry about the delay once again. I will be attending 3 differernt speedrun marathons over the summer so I won't be streaming or uploading as much in general, but i'll try to sneak in what I can. Next video will be on a brand new game, and I'm thinking the length is gonna be around 30-40 minutes.
Thanks everyone for your patience and please go check out Xyphles' video!
What's up folks, sorry once again for the relative silence. Took a break throughout most of December/January due to the winter season getting to me, but I am proud to announce that I've begun work on ERA 9 and it is quite close to completion :). It's estimated to be about as long as ERA 8, so well over an hour. You can expect to be able to watch it in full around early/mid April. A 12 minute snippet is available on patreon.com/tharixer
Once ERA 9 is completed I will create one more video that I'm calling the "Supercut" where I will be stitching all 9 ERA's together into one seamless video with some small corrections, editing fixes and a new intro. After that I will begin working on brand new videos.
I've been asked whether or not I'm going to continue with a possible ERA X and beyond and my answer to that is no. When I started making this series, I knew I wanted to start from the beginning and I had a clear ending in mind too, regardless of new records being set. As much as I love the Jak & Daxter games, I also want to work on new projects too. This has been my life's magnum opus and It's gonna feel incredible that I'm finally gonna finish it after working on it for about 2.5 years.
I understand that some of you guys might be upset that I chose to spend so much time talking about one game, and I hear you. It's super selfish lol.. But Jak 3 is my main game. There's no other game I could cover on this channel that would be a more authentic and accurate telling of the events that followed. I care about speedrunning but to me its so much more. The comradery, the failure, the triumph. It makes it so much more interesting to me. And I've been able to express those emotions more than ever, through these 9 videos. And this final part in the series is the very best one I've made.
Thanks everyone for sticking with me and being patient. I never forget you guys exist.
Hey all, I'm doing a 12+ hour stream today to celebrate my 28th birthday :)
Gonna be doing speedruns of a bunch of classics from the 90's and 2000s. CTR, Jak & Daxter, TimeSplitters, Spyro, Ratchet & Clank, Mirror's Edge and more! There are a few games that are unlockable via subbing as well. These are games I have never run before on stream, so should be fun if they get met!
