My F2 hybrid tomatoes from the cross two years ago. Saved seeds from 4 different F2 plants that all looked the same, and all different results when grown out. It will be interesting to see what we get as they're grown out for the next several years!

June 1st to plant everything! Night temps in the 40s may not destroy warm crops BUT it hurts them. Later transplanting during warmer weather creates plants that outperform in the long run. I start everything later than most to avoid rootbound plants and to have starts ready to go in the ground around Memorial Day IF I see no 40s. Cooler weather this year but this is typical Michigan.

Every fall I find tiny Mullein, 1st year plants, and leave them wherever they sprout, over winter. Mullein is a biennial so it sprouts it's first year of life but doesn't get very big. Year two it grows into these soft fuzzy plants and sends up a large flower stalk!
