2 years later, I still get people commenting that you can't fruit or flower with cheap LED shop lights. Next video I am addressing what is more important than lights when it comes to indoor success. Step #1 is realizing plants aren't supposed to grow inside. Step #2 is bringing outside goodness inside. It's actually a simple concept when you don't put much thought into it. Stay tuned!

Videos will be returning soon. Almost done working 7 days per week, 12-21 hours per day. We'll be starting an indoor garden bed, talking "grow" lights, and building the permaculture garden over winter. For now, flashback to a warmer time!

Curing the compost from the 18 day composting method. We'll be making compost all winter to feed the garden. Even with temps in the 30s this stuff was cooking at 140-170 Fahrenheit. Just grass clippings and leaves.

LED Grow Lights for $20!? Actually it's NOT a grow light BUT I use these to grow EVERYTHING inside. Tomatoes, beans, even Cannabis. These are available from Rural King. Other stores have equivalent versions with a different name. Many companies have contacted me to make videos promoting their lights but as an electrician I find fancy lights use the same internals as cheap stuff. I will not take free products or monetary compensation to lie to my subs.. I make great money at my real job. As an indoor grower I've learned the "scientific" studies paid for by the manufacturers yield data that supports the sale of their product. Fancy terminology like PAR and Spectrum mean little to me because results speak for themselves. No affiliation to these.. just thought I'd show everyone what I use. I use only rain water and my soil is blended with chicken made compost. Definitely plays a factor in success. Terrible reviews for some reason on the website. I have 10 that run 18 hours per day and haven't failed.

Finishing the 18 day Compost by adding wine cap mushrooms and other mushrooms I found. Thicker woodchips will not fully break down just from heat. The Fungi break these leftover bits down, then the worms consume the fungi and turn them into castings. A compost pile is a whole ecosystem in itself!

I should have checked on the Shiitake logs I made this spring. RIP 😬. Plenty of fall left. Hopefully we get a big flush.

13th and final Monarch Butterfly released this season. Being a steward of the land is more than building gardens to feed just ourselves. It's about creating an ecosystem to take care of all creatures.
