It hurts when people only see the surface of you. The anime vtuber, the retro gamer, the cynical high-pitched anime voice talking down on FF6.

I do think that there are some defining qualities in each of us that isn't immediately visible. Deeper understanding requires patience. When I painted a Hayate x Nagi mural in front of our house in 2019... there was a piece on the far end of it with Killua from HxH by a tree. When someone on Reddit saw it, that became the focal point of the discussion and why Gon wasn't with him. The answer is simple, that Killua mural was an afterthought. I painted him because my niece liked HxH and Killua in particular and my mother asked for it.

But this HayaNagi piece? The one I spent so much time painstakingly painting all by myself on this wall? That's the true emotional center of this piece; the part that really mattered to me and an image ingrained into my mind forever. It may have been a happy coincidence, some kind of serendipity, but I'm so happy that Hata came to the same emotional conclusion that I did and drew this image as the final ending of Hayate The Combat Butler in 2026.

Depth has a practical challenge -- it asks for time. Something that most people will never be willing to invest into you; but for those who spend more time looking at me and at this post as just another pretty picture. Thanks.
