2025 was a slower year for Navajo Joe Films, but one of the most exciting projects we took on was a music video collaboration with artist ⁨@JoelPoe⁩, who traveled all the way from Florida to Arizona to create with us. Starting in Phoenix, AZ, we journeyed into the deserts of Southern California, revisiting familiar filming locations from our Runaway shoot.

This behind-the-scenes video captures the heart of that experience. We hope you enjoy the candid moments from set, the stunning landscapes we explored, and the creative energy that carried us through making art and having fun in 110+ degree heat.

During the summer of 2025, I teamed up with music artist @JoelPoe to film one of his newest music videos. Our journey took us across Southern California, from the eerie shores of the Salton Sea to the sweeping Imperial Sand Dunes, some of the most remote yet breathtaking locations the region has to offer.

We captured a lot of footage, but much of it never made the final cut of the official music video. This Extended Cut showcases those unseen moments, set to music by Hans Zimmer from Dune: Part Two. While shooting at the Imperial Sand Dunes, we couldn’t help quoting “Lisan al Gaib” on repeat, and our shared love for Zimmer’s score made the pairing feel perfect.

There’s no strict narrative here. Just a dreamy, atmospheric journey following Joel Poe through the hauntingly beautiful deserts of Southern California.

Singer-songwriter and producer Joel Poe has just released his new single Find You—a nostalgic yet hopeful down-tempo EDM track that blends bittersweet melodies with atmospheric electronica. The release is paired with a cinematic post-apocalyptic music video directed by Poe’s longtime friend Harrison J. Bahe, owner of Navajo Joe Films.

Shot across Arizona and Southern California, the video captures abandoned towns, hidden gems, and breathtaking desert landscapes. Poe’s cyberpunk-inspired outfit and the film’s moody visuals perfectly match the track’s reflective, wanderlust vibe.

THE EGG follows a nameless man who discovers the "meaning of life" after he dies.

Originally filmed and released in 2012, THE EGG is our interpretation of Andy Weir’s thought-provoking short story of the same name. This short film features J. Lyle as the nameless man and the late, great Greg Bronson as God. Since its original release, Greg has sadly passed away, and this newly remastered version is uploaded in his memory.

For this remaster, I removed the 2.35:1 widescreen bars in favor of the now more standard 2.00:1 aspect ratio. I also ditched the overly contrasty color grade for a more natural look that better reflects the tone of the story. Additionally, I used AI technology to clean up the audio in one key scene—where the sound of actors stepping on forest foliage originally muddied the dialogue. It’s not perfect, but it’s a significant improvement over the initial release nearly 13 years ago.

We hope you enjoy this new remastered cut of THE EGG—a small tribute to the story, the experience, and especially to Greg Bronson’s unforgettable performance.

After sitting on a project for months and not figuring out how to end it, I just had an epiphany while listening to a beautiful rendition of Moby's song When It's Cold I'd Like to Die. I see it now and if it's excuted well, it will break the hearts of every viewer. I wrote a majority of the script last summer as a way to get over a break up. Now, as another "relationship" ends, I see a way to process these feelings and filter it through my art. My goodness. I need to get this all down before it's lost!

The project is called Once More and is about two men who broke up a year prior meeting each other at a club and sharing one last night together before one permanently leaves town.
