Last week I picked up this dope little program guide for the 1977 Comic Art Convention at Infinity Flux in Chattanooga, TN.

It’s an awesome store. A true nerd emporium packed to the gills with an awesome selection of stuff.

When I saw this Berni Wrightson cover out of the corner of my eye, and realized it was from 1977 (the year I was born), I knew what I was leaving with.

This was the 10th annual Comic Art Convention, organized by Phil Seuling, and the first one held in Philadelphia.

Inside is an introduction about Wrightson, who was the guest of honor, written by his collaborator Bruce Jones. And this cover was an exclusive new piece he did for the convention.

Then we get into the art gallery, which is just filled with legends like Gil Kane, Ernie Chan, Walt Simonson, and of course Jack Kirby. There’s even an early Spider-Man by John Romita Jr.

The backup article is about some early cosplay contests and features Elfquest creator Wendi Pini in her Red Sonja costume. Plus some dude as Nightcrawler, who was still a new character at the time.

Drop a comment if you’d like to see a flip thru video of the whole book.
