For centuries, Muslims have been told that Hadith—narrations collected over 200 years after Prophet Muhammad’s death—are a binding source of Islamic law alongside the Quran. But here’s the truth many avoid:
• The Prophet never authorized anyone to speak on his behalf after him.
• The chains of narration are human-made, fallible, and often contradictory.
• The Quran never commands us to follow any source other than itself as divine law.
When we make Hadith equal to the Quran, we open the door to stoning, apostasy killings, and forced religion, none of which are in the Quran. These laws do not reflect the justice, compassion, and freedom of belief the Quran upholds.
Yes, I respect the historical value of Hadith, but historical records are not divine law. The Quran is complete, perfect, and preserved. Adding human words to God’s law is not devotion, it is distortion.
Challenging this status quo has earned me labels like “Hadith denier,” “Ahle Quran,” and even “apostate.” In some countries, these words are not just insults, they are calls for execution.
Still, I will stand by the truth: No one has the right to add human-made laws to the Book of God.
