I haven’t been able to get to each encouraging and thoughtful comment under yesterday’s video, but I want to thank you all and tell you how much I appreciate you.

I thought I’d share the bread I was making yesterday, when the beeper went off towards the end of the video. I jumped up after filming, took the dough ball and shaped the loaf, then allowed a second rise before baking.

Several of you have asked about my granddaughter June. I had every intention of filming a video with her before school started back, and while she was here at our house frequently this summer, we were always busy doing other activities.
But I’d be happy to give you an update on our sweet Junebug. She celebrated her 15th birthday in June and is a sophomore this year. She’s enjoying her studies, especially a class that’s geared towards future teachers. In addition, she recently made the Varsity Cheer Squad and was voted Sophomore Captain. She loves spending time with her youth group and volunteering in her church.
Two of these pictures below are from June’s summer church camp. And the third is a photo of June and her mom, our daughter Kelly.

Just as the seasons begin to change in September, God desires to bring change within us—renewing our minds through the truth of His Word.

This September, I hope you’ll join me as we spend a few quiet moments each day writing Scriptures about having a renewed mind.
As we put pen to paper, let’s ask the Lord to help us let go of thoughts that don’t belong and replace them with thoughts that are true, good, and pleasing to Him.

Hi there Homespun Friends!
Thanks to all of you who have expressed interest in my sweet mother’s Vegetable Casserole Recipe.

*Mix all ingredients in first section together in a bowl and pour into baking dish. (I like to use an 8x11 or 9x9 dish….but recipe can easily be doubled and will fit nicely in a 9x13)
*Then combine all the ingredients for the topping in a separate bowl and sprinkle on top of casserole.
*Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

*If casserole starts browning too much, you can cover with foil.

**This is a casserole you can put together the night before you need it and refrigerate. The next day, remove from fridge, add the topping and bake.

With our words we can encourage...or discourage. We can speak life...or we can wound. We can build up...or tear down.

Throughout the month of August we'll spend a few quiet moments each day writing a passage about how we use our words.

I pray that by God's grace, these verses will lead us to become more like Jesus.
