My name is Daniel Erik, and I live in the Swedish countryside. Surrounded by nature and far away from the city, this is where I thrive! On this channel, I share my experiences of country life, trying to live in a more simple and meaningful way.

When I got back from Norway the other day, the lake had already opened up. A whole month earlier than usual. And this evening, the lake was still as a mirror, with birds flying all over it.
I still somehow can’t believe it. The lake is actually open. Spring is here… ❤️

Taking the camera out for a walk is one of my favorite things to do. A walk down to the lake, up a hill or like here, to something as simple as a puddle. It’s the smallest things that so often brings me joy and tranquility.
To see a leaf floating in a puddle, during a late autumn evening. To really focus and admire it’s patterns and how it creates a tension on the surface. There’s nothing special about it at all, yet it’s remarkable. And it’s my camera that helps me appreciate these small things. Moments I would otherwise pass by.
It’s not about taking the best photo, but how it makes me feel present in a way nothing else does. And that feeling, when I’ve experienced something small becoming something much more… that’s one of my favorite things about photography.

Yesterday I got to experience my first ever northern light! Though it was (very) vague, it was such a cool experience – and I tried to capture it, with this as the result! Now I can’t wait for the next one, hopefully one that’s even stronger! 😍
