In April 1981, Phil offered an early glimpse of his album Fatalistic Attitude with a performance of “Somebody Else’s Dream.”

But Fatalistic Attitude was held back, the album was reworked and renamed The Philip Lynott Album - and “Somebody Else’s Dream” was left behind.

• The original 1971 UK cover - photographed by David Wedgbury, Decca Records’ very first staff photographer - used a warped fisheye reflection of a car and taillights to mirror the band’s psychedelic early sound.

• The US release took a completely different route: a cartoon-style “Tin Lizzie” Model T Ford illustration, playing on the band’s name with a surreal, tongue-in-cheek design.

• The new deluxe edition also revives the striking photograph originally used on the back cover of the US release - featuring photography by Jennifer Edwards, with additional work from Dublin photographer Roy Esmond.
