I make videos about technology, psychology, sociology, and occasional random miscellanea.

Thumbnails for the latest video. I don't have a favorite this time, I like them all for different reasons. Who wants to bet which will be the winner?

Next video's color grading. Decided to do it with natural light because I had to reshoot some disaster lighting with artificial lighting the night before. I'm just AWFUL at lighting. I pretty much woke up at 6am to film to before driving to the office. It was a very long day.

I am trying to respond to all the comments in the last video cuz I appreciate folks taking the time, and it's the least I can do. Even to the mean/weird ones lol. But damn its taking forever.

Latest video is out. I am trying different kind of content to see if there's any interest in SWE and coding. I don't think I will actually teach coding on the channel, but since it's such a huge part of my life, I can't not talk about it, you know?

As for the video, I spent 25 hours and 40 minutes on it so far. That is soup to nuts (ideation, filming, editing, uploading, thumbnails, descriptions). Compare this to the last video, the 30 day talk to camera challenge at 34 hours, it is an improvement. However, this is supposed to be the "quick one" ya'll 😭 like with less focus on b-roll and stuff, which there are fewer than the last one. I was hoping to land somewhere around 15 hours. But maybe the next video can be it.

2 major lessons/f-ups on this video though: I forgot to use the egg crate/grid on the key light so it's a lot more washed out than expected. And I had the lav mic literally at my hair's length so occasionally you can hear pops and static as the hair is touching the mic 😔 I need to figure out how to use that dang boom mic already.

But anyways, the silver lining is that I am trying to step up the thumbnail game. I am doing the A/B testing with 3 versions. I know which one is my favorite, but you never know what the test results will be.

A bit of a glow up from the last video, worked on the lighting and am actually spending some time doing the color grading. Quite pleased with myself if I don't say so myself. The annoying thing though is the purple accent light could have been higher because it's lighting my teeth sometimes which distracted the heck out of me. But you live and you learn!

Last post was 3 weeks ago and it really took me all that time to finish this video that I thought was going to be "quick and easy." LOL

The video was 20-25 hours of work, which includes script outline, filming, and the lion's share of the time was gathering B roll and editing. Granted I did have to re-learn how to use Davinci Resolve again, but it really shouldn't have taken that long. Oyeeee. I need to figure out how to become more efficient.

Overall, pretty pleased with how it turned out although the lighting was awful and I didn't have the correct camera settings. The gray hairs are pretty obvious in the video as well. But it's ok! You live and you learn and hope that you can get better.

Hey, it's me Ann again. I AM STILL ALIVE!

Lost of stuff happened since my last video that distracted me from content creating (injury, new job, buying a house, anxiety/depression) and now I am finally in a good mental place to re-start this channel.

I did a bit of house cleaning to prep for the new plans, I unlisted and moved most of the "31 Day Speak to Camera Challenge" videos to its own playlist: www.youtube.com/playlist?list...

It's still going to be a "anything goes" kind of channel where I experiment and such. But with a bit more deliberate focus to try to get better at this thing and grow.
