Very happy to share that our 8 years old student Swara got a chance of a click with GM Gukesh & 7 years old player Narayani during simul at ChessBase India Chess Club at Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla, Mumbai on Saturday 18th March 2023.

She is very passionate about chess.
She had watched death match between GM Anish & GM Vidit arranged by ‪@ChessBaseIndiachannel‬ earlier.

She had also played in the Chess Club last year on the auspicious day of Gudi Padwa i.e. on 2nd April 2022, a video of which can be watched on our channel below:

The 85th edition of this chess festival opens from January 13th with Indian legend Vishy Anand attended it as a guest of honor.

Games will start from January 14th to January 29th.

There are 14 top players in the Masters category including 3 Indian young talents viz. Arjun, Gukesh & Praggnanandhaa. In the Challengers section, we can see Vaishali & Adhiban playing.

There will be total 13 Rounds in a Round-Robin format with Classical games.

♛ Time Control:

100 minutes for 1st 40 moves,
50 minutes for 20 moves &
15 minutes for remaining moves
Increament - 30 seconds from move 1

The rest days of the Tata Steel Masters will be on January 18, January 23 and January 26.

Great news for India as Humpy Koneru won "Silver" medal in World Blitz and Savitha Shri won "Bronze" medal in World Rapid Championships that concluded in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Savitha Shri became the youngest ever to win a Medal in World Rapids.

Humpy started the Blitz tournament with 2 losses but after that she bounced back amazingly & did not lose a game from Round 6 onwards in total 17 rounds event.

Heartiest Congratulations to Savitha & Humpy !!
