This was my Chinese New Year in 2013

Chinese New Year 2013 (10 February 2013):

Abelia Lim (which is me), a bright-eyed 18 month old, sat in my stroller, taking in the vibrant sights and sounds of Chinese New Year celebrations. My older brother, Asher, excitedly pointed out lion dancers and colorful decorations.

My parents, Isaiah and Michelle, smiled warmly as they navigated the crowded streets. Though I hadn't spoken my first word yet, my big brown eyes sparkled with curiosity.

As we visited relatives and friends, I was showered with affection and gifts. I cooed and giggled, responding to the love surrounding me.

Asher proudly helped me with my red envelope, carefully placing the money inside. I grasped the envelope, my tiny fingers closing around it tightly.

In the midst of the festivities, Michelle gently signed simple words like "mama" and "papa" into my hands, hoping to encourage my little one's communication journey.

As the night drew to a close, I snuggled into my stroller, exhausted but content. Isaiah and Michelle exchanged a loving glance, grateful for their little family's joy and love.

My 1st Birthday

This took place on 1 August 2012

Abelia Lim (that's me) sat in her high chair, surrounded by balloons and streamers. Her big brown eyes sparkled with curiosity as she watched her family sing "Happy Birthday."

Asher, her 4-year-old brother, clapped enthusiastically, grinning from ear to ear. "Happy birthday, Abelia!" he exclaimed.

Isaiah and Michelle, Abelia's parents, beamed with pride. They had prepared a simple yet delightful celebration, complete with Abelia's favorite toys and a smash cake.

As Abelia dove into the cake, her face lit up with joy. Asher giggled at the sight of his little sister covered in frosting.

The family enjoyed a lovely afternoon together, taking photos, playing games, and cherishing every moment of Abelia's special day.

As the sun began to set, Abelia drifted off to sleep, surrounded by love and happiness.
