A humble jack of all trades living in the southeastern United States. I have a passion for NASCAR and history and this is the place where I decided to combine the two. Hopefully you enjoy my deep-dives into the history of NASCAR and over-analysis of its biggest events and more obscure moments through out the 70+ year history of this fantastic sport that has captured my attention and imagination since before I was even old enough to speak.

You ever wonder what these weird misshapen dirt cars are? Or why they look like that? Well, there's a lot of history behind it and a lot of insane backyard redneck engineering too. Let's take a look at the most popular form of dirt track racing in America. Welcome to square one:

New off topic April Fool's Day video is out! When Japan rapidly expanded in the 1960's and 70's a new airport for the Tokyo metro area had to be built, however pretty much all of the surrounding land was already occupied. A small impoverished farming community called Sanrizuka was picked as the site for the airport, but an unlikely group of farmers, rural conservatives, nationalists, socialists, communists, and student activist group vowed to halt the construction of the airport at all costs. What ensued was 20 years of nonstop riots and medieval siege like battles as the people rose up against government forces in what became known as the Sanrizuka Struggle.

I'm back! After dealing with a hellacious summer season at work, a bit of burnout, and a much needed vacation overseas, I'm back in the lab. For now I got a couple of shorts lined up, I have a script written and voiced over, now all I have to do is edit the video; expect that one next week hopefully. I have another script 80% completed, and I have a collab in the works with a certain other youtuber who's been making big moves lately, so keep an eye out for that. Hopefully I can finish the year strong and give y'all the content you deserve.

What is the oldest pro sport? A sport where the contestants do nothing but play that sport and make a living off of it; that is their entire job. With a history that stretches back more than 2000 years, Sumo Wrestling has a pretty compelling case. Newest #AprilFools video up now.

New video is up and this time I check out a short time period from an entirely different motorsport. It lasted only 4 years, but Group B rally racing quickly became the most popular motorsport in the world by a wide margin. The fastest cars ever fielded for rally racing, the best drivers, and the most rabid fans, and all with no rules. What could possibly go wrong?

The first installment of S1ap's Short Track Tour of America is live, and South Alabama Speedway takes center stage. The Rattler 250 didn't disappoint one bit, and although the super late models are at the top of the ticket, there are pro late models and Gulf Coast modified on the docket as well. I do interviews with race director Kevin Chance, Shane Turner who knows the ins and outs of tour modifieds and gulf coast modifieds, and I even talk with legendary late model driver and car builder Augie Grill about what makes these cars and this race so special.

Update on the ongoing Greenville Pickens situation. The land is up for sale, but track owner Kevin Whitaker isn't giving interviews and answering questions, so who knows what he's cooking up. Meanwhile a two pronged effort to lease the track for one last series of races is being headed by former SPEED channel reporter Bob Dillner and local Greenville businessman Jackie Manly. On the other side of the coin, Anthony Anders, 2014 National Late Model champ, and 2 time track champ is building a new "Entertainment complex" down the road with what looks like a short track mapped out on the land; although he has not stated any plans to build a new track.

Whatever ends up happening, I will drop everything to attend a race at Greenville Pickens Speedway one last time, and if you're in the area, I encourage you to do the same.

On the way to Talladega for the fall race I hopped aboard the downward spiral and talked to EmpLemon about NASCAR, my YouTube career, my real career, and a bunch of other stuff.
If you don't know already ‪@EmperorLemon‬ is a million sub YouTuber who has dipped his toe into the NASCAR YouTube scene a few times and makes some killer content. Definitely check him out when you have a chance.
