Unfiltered...My real day as a work from home parent.

4:12am: Wake up to use the restroom. Can't go back to sleep because there's too much on my mind thinking about business, marriage, kids, finances, health, faith, friends....

6:16am: Decide I should probably just get up because I'm not going back to sleep. Take the dog outside to go potty.

6:38am: Make breakfast for the kids and wife before they are off to school.

7:23am: Shower.

8:06am: Sit down at my desk to work in shorts, t-shirt and socks. The house is finally quiet. Check 9 email accounts, 7 social media accounts, respond to emails, messages, comments. Get through the busy work.

8:42am: Realize I didn't make a schedule for the work day last night and I don't know what I'm doing so I make a work schedule for the day. 🤫

8:58am: Check my phone for the 13th time this morning and realize I need to put it on DND and set it on the other side of the room so I can actually lock in and get some work done.

9:00am: Time to shine. Work begins.

10:55am: Remember I'm playing pickleball at 11:30am and hustle to get my clothes, bag, grab a snack, and head out the door!

11:30am: Play 2 hours of competitive pickleball, sweat, and feel somewhat healthy.....other than the inflammation in my back the whole time that made it slightly less fun because it hurts to bend over and hit balls.

1:45pm: Arrive back home, realize I need to eat lunch and my back hurts and I need to ice it.

1:46pm: Ice back for 15 minutes

2:01pm: Finally throw some costco chicken nuggets in the air fryer with a protein shake for a very late lunch. (But who cares, I do what I want.)

2:20pm: Sit back down to work. I put on my headphones. Phone on DND, across the room. I'm in it. Let's do this. I start working on some advertising for a client.

3:16pm: Kids are home from school, but I have massive headphones on and try to ignore them so I can keep working. Lock the office doors. 🥸 It's like I'm not even here.

3:30pm: Record a Youtube video, we're cookin. Luckily I scripted it yesterday.

4:15pm: Take a Zoom call with a client.

5:13pm: Zoom call went long. Wife is yelling that it's passed 5pm and I should stop working. So I call it a day.


5:14pm: I feel pretty exhausted from the day, but now it's family time. I go find the kids to ask them about their day.

6:03pm: Sit down to eat dinner with the family. Try not to think about anything but them, because they are my whole world. Fail, but look blankly at everyone and act like I can hear what they're saying and there aren't 10 voices in my head at all times.

7:00pm: Play horse with my 9 year old son on the playroom basketball hoop.

7:45pm: Do piano lessons with my 7 year old daughter. We do it together because she loves music and so do I.

8:15pm: Pray with my kids and tuck them in for bed.

8:30pm: Thank God for an incredible day and an incredible life. Feel thankful. Spend some time with my wife and get ready for bed.
