Here’s a huge TIP - this is what whale season looks like at North Stradbroke Island and Point Lookout is one of Australia's finest land-based whale watching locations - and standing on that headland as a humpback launches its entire body from the ocean? That feeling stays with you.

From June to October, the whale highway comes alive - giants breaching, tail slapping, blowing just offshore on their annual migration north and back again with their newborn calves.

We were lucky enough to capture this unforgettable moment from main beach, and it is one of the highlights of our latest Minjerribah adventure. 🌊

There's nothing quite like beach driving in Australia - but it's also one of the quickest ways to find yourself bogged to the axles if you're not set up right.
Today's new episode is a Tips 101 deep dive on exactly what we do before, during, and after a beach run with our Ford Ranger + off-road caravan. We're talking years of experience from Ningaloo, the Kimberley, and right here on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).

We spent weeks caravan camping on Minjerribah - beachfront at Flinders Beach, walking the Gorge Walk, finding that breathtaking hidden freshwater lagoon tucked behind the dunes, and just… sinking into the rhythm of this place. Tides, wind, salt, and time. 🌿

And right now, locals have recently spotted the Yalingbila - humpback whales - beginning their seasonal journey along the east coast. Watching them from the headlands is something we'll never take for granted. 🐋

This is Quandamooka Country. And it is something else.
