Karimnagar:
During a meeting with MLAs, District Collectors, and senior officials of the erstwhile Karimnagar district, Agriculture, Horticulture, Cooperation and Marketing Minister #Tummala Nageswara Rao emphasized the need for coordinated and result-oriented governance to resolve pending issues and accelerate development works.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister said the review was not merely a routine discussion but a platform to identify key challenges and initiate concrete action plans to resolve them within a defined timeframe. He directed officials to focus on priority sectors such as irrigation, roads and buildings, healthcare, education, national highways, sanitation, agriculture, and power to ensure faster completion of pending projects.
The Minister stressed that the government has already set clear priorities and mobilized resources to strengthen essential services and social sectors. Continuous monitoring and daily follow-up of works, he said, would be key to achieving tangible results on the ground.
Highlighting the government’s development agenda, he noted that the state aims to remain No.1 in welfare and emerge as a leader in development, pointing out that Telangana has already made significant strides in food grain production and power supply.
Calling for collective effort, the Minister urged public representatives, officials, and the people to work together as a single team to achieve the targets set for the coming 99 days under the “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” programme.
As part of the immediate action plan, he announced that special review meetings will be held with concerned departmental officials on key sectors such as irrigation, health, and infrastructure. Weekly district-level reviews will also be conducted to track progress, fix responsibilities, and ensure transparency in the execution of pending works.
He further instructed officials to prepare clear timelines for ongoing projects and strengthen coordination with panchayats and municipal bodies to ensure effective implementation at the grassroots level.
The Minister also called for comprehensive preparations for the upcoming Telangana Formation Day celebrations, with districts showcasing visible progress in development initiatives.
Concluding the meeting, he expressed confidence that with collective commitment and focused implementation, the erstwhile **Karimnagar district can set an example for development and effective governance in the state.

Telangana has once again set a national benchmark by achieving 110% of its target in the Farmer Registry enrollment drive under Digital Agriculture initiatives. By registering 43,59,371 farmers against the Government of India’s target of 39,77,791, the state has emerged as one of the top-performing states in the country.
Under the dynamic leadership of Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, this remarkable milestone was achieved through seamless coordination from the state headquarters to the village level. Special mention is due to the Director of Agriculture and the Agricultural Production Commissioner (APC) for their strategic guidance, close monitoring, and administrative leadership that ensured timely execution across districts.
This success would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of field functionaries at every level — Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs), Mandal Agriculture Officers (MAOs), district officials, technical teams, and support staff — who worked with dedication, commitment, and a strong sense of purpose. Equal appreciation goes to the enthusiastic farmers whose active participation and trust made this drive truly successful.
The sanction of ₹422.64 crore as Special Central Assistance (SCA) stands as national recognition of Telangana’s outstanding performance. This achievement strengthens transparency, enables data-driven governance, and ensures timely and direct delivery of welfare schemes to eligible farmers.
Digital empowerment for farmers — the Telangana way. 🌾

*A Meeting of Legacy, Leadership, and Shared Vision*
In a notable reaffirmation of inter-state harmony, Telangana Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao undertook a personal visit to Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, to call on Hon’ble Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu—reviving a trusted association shaped during the days of the undivided Andhra Pradesh and strengthening the spirit of cooperative federalism between the sister states.
The deliberations addressed critical regional priorities: the proposed administrative integration of five geographically enclosed gram panchayats impacting tribal livelihoods; permanent restoration of the Pedda Vagu irrigation system irrigating nearly 16,000 acres, with an 85:15 benefit distribution between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; urgent safeguarding of the Bhadrachalam flood-protection embankment; facilitation of TTD-associated spiritual infrastructure in Khammam; allocation of 5 acres in Tirumala for Telangana pilgrims’ amenities; advancement of the Sattupalli–Kovvur and Penuballi–Amaravati railway connectivity proposals; and broader measures essential for inclusive growth and regional accessibility.

At a review meeting held at the Secretariat with Agriculture Department officials, Agriculture Minister #TNR Garu directed strict action to prevent the entry and sale of unapproved HT (Herbicide Tolerant / BG-III) cotton seeds in the state. He ordered the constitution of Task Force teams and intensified surveillance in border areas to stop illegal movement of HT and spurious cotton seeds from Maharashtra and Gujarat. The Minister noted that HT cotton, though developed by Monsanto, was denied approval by the Central Government due to failure in field trials and environmental concerns. He also instructed officials to frame clear guidelines on co-marketing of cotton seeds and to conduct large-scale farmer awareness programmes, cautioning farmers against HT seeds due to increased herbicide use, biodiversity loss and contamination of other cotton hybrids. Agriculture Director Dr Gopi, departmental officials and seed company representatives were present.
