🏷️ The GI tag for Armoor Turmeric reflects the quality, tradition and hard work of Telangana farmers.

📈 Referring to Agri Vision 2047, announced at the Telangana Rising Global Summit, the Minister said agriculture is being repositioned as an engine of economic growth, not just a welfare sector.

🌱 Turmeric has a strategic role in this vision.🫚


⚠️ Price volatility is discouraging turmeric cultivation:
• Cost of cultivation: ₹8,000–9,000 per quintal
• Market prices: Around ₹12,000
📉 Sustainable pricing is critical for farmer confidence.


🏛️ The National Turmeric Board must function as a farmer-centric policy institution, extending beyond office boundaries to the fields.

💰 Ensuring remunerative prices for turmeric farmers is the responsibility of the Turmeric Board.

The Minister called for:

🔬 To make Telangana turmeric globally competitive, emphasis must be on:
• High-curcumin varieties
• Quality testing laboratories
• Alignment with global standards


🌱 Under Integrated Farming (Vision 2047), turmeric🫚 can be promoted as an intercrop, especially in oil palm plantations—

🏭 Farmers were urged to focus on value addition, as the future of turmeric lies in processed, value-based products, not raw produce alone.

Industries & IT Minister Sri Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Agriculture Minister Sri Tummala Nageswara Rao convened a review meeting with RFCL officials to assess urea production and supply at the Ramagundam Fertilizer Plant.

The Ministers examined the corrective measures being implemented to prevent a recurrence of the production disruptions experienced during the previous Kharif season and stressed the need for uninterrupted urea availability throughout the ongoing Rabi season.

They underlined the importance of allocating a minimum of 70% of Ramagundam’s urea output to Telangana, which would significantly reduce transportation costs and ensure faster delivery to farmers. Officials were also directed to remain fully prepared with robust contingency plans to address any unforeseen production challenges.

To avoid rush and panic for Urea, the Agriculture Department is launching a mobile app that allows farmers to book Urea from home during this Rabi season.

📱 Pilot launch from 20 December

✔️ Check Urea availability
Farmers can see how many Urea bags are available at nearby dealers and across the district.

✔️ Advance booking facility
Farmers can book the required quantity in advance and choose a convenient dealer.

✔️ Booking ID–based purchase
After booking, farmers receive a Booking ID and can collect Urea by showing this ID.

✔️ Crop & land-based allocation
Urea quantity will be calculated automatically based on crop type and cultivated area.

✔️ Facility for tenant farmers
Tenant farmers can also book Urea by verifying Aadhaar and landowner details.

✔️ Support from AEOs & helpline
Farmers can take help from Agriculture Extension Officers or contact the helpline for any issues.

🎯 Purpose of the initiative
• Prevent panic buying
• Ensure fair and transparent distribution
• Supply Urea only to genuine cultivators
• Promote balanced fertilizer usage
