When I first moved to Canada, I had just $500 in my pocket and a lot of uncertainty. I never could have imagined that one day I’d not only become an alumnus of Algonquin College but also have the opportunity to meet and connect with its inspiring CEO, Claude Brulé.
Claude's leadership at Algonquin College has created opportunities for students like me to not just survive, but thrive in a new country. The education and community I found there became a foundation for my future, helping me grow personally and professionally. Meeting him in person was a full-circle moment, a reminder of how far I’ve come since those early days.

When I first arrived in Canada, I was a newcomer trying to find my way. Cold, unfamiliar, and filled with uncertainty, it was a challenging time. But my first touchpoint in this new country was the TIM program at Carleton University, and that’s where I met Professor Tony Bailetti.
Tony wasn’t just a professor, he became a mentor and guide when I needed it most. His knowledge and passion for innovation and technology shaped not only my academic journey but also my professional one. He helped me bridge the gap between student life and the world of business, opening my eyes to possibilities I hadn’t even considered before.
Looking back, I realize how impactful those student-professor relationships can be. They’re not just about learning subjects—they’re about guidance, growth, and finding someone who truly believes in your potential.
