"I made this folding table again—the one I designed last May. This time, I made small adjustments to the thickness of the tabletop, the width of the legs, and the center of gravity when it's set up. The changes aren't major, but looking at the finished piece, the proportions are much more pleasing, and the whole table feels a lot steadier. As it happens, this came about by accident—I gave the client the wrong tabletop thickness, and after we talked it over, we decided to go ahead with the adjustment anyway. These little, unremarkable tweaks, these accidental improvements—to me, they are the truest kind of reward."
