Little late but good late start to the 2026 season! Finalists in singles and doubles over at Helena, Montana! Unfortunately couldn’t take off work on Monday and Tuesday (when we were supposed to play finals). Nevertheless, happy with the results and my level! Thanks to the tournament director, Kyle and Sam, and doubles partner, Will, for making this trip worthwhile! Beautiful place that I hope to come back to!

Although it’s a very small tournament, this was a big win for me. I wanted to win a tournament so I can give myself more grace and forgiveness that even after surgery, I can still play. What is Serve and Return organization about? Our primary focus is helping kids in the Chicagoland area through the sport of tennis! A couple weeks late but was able to win the consolation draw of this men's open singles tournament at home in Chicago! Took a break after my North Dakota tournament to recover financially (went too hard on furniture for my apartment). Tough conditions with wind and cold outdoors. Too good from Darrell, who also won the tournament! Definitely didn't play well but gave me some ideas to work on my game! St. Louis tournament got cancelled so won't be back in action until June!

Since the pandemic, I’ve always utilized a ball machine to work on my game. After matches, especially after tough losses, I find something to work on right away. Instead of trying to match your schedule to someone else, I prefer to work on my game right away, often by myself. Spent my last tournament in my 20’s and first tournament in my 30’s! It has been quite a year with tearing my achilles at the beginning of the year to now playing tournaments again.

Nice birthday present to reach the doubles final on my first tournament back.
