No crater photos than these 🕳
On the sixth day of the #Artemis I mission, the Orion spacecraft captured the closest photos of the Moon from a human-rated vessel since Apollo – 80 mi (128 km) above the lunar surface.
This photo was taken using Orion’s optical navigational system, which captures black-and-white images of the Earth and Moon in different phases and distances. This vital technology demonstration on the Artemis I flight test will help prove its effectiveness for future crewed missions.
Orion also passed over the landing spots from Apollo 11, 12, and 14 and is on its way toward a distant retrograde orbit, a high-altitude orbit that moves Orion in the opposite direction that the Moon travels around Earth.
Image description:
1: A close black-and-white photo of the surface of the Moon showing craters of various sizes dotting its surface. The Moon appears in shades of gray on the left of the image, with the blackness of space on the right third of the photo.
2: The image is a closer shot of a similar area. The blackness of space takes up less room.
3: A closer photo still, the craters vary in size and shape.
4: The closest photo shows craters on top of craters, and the texture of the Moon is scarred with asteroid and meteor impacts.

Our latest prediction for #CZ5B rocket body reentry is:
🚀04 Nov 2022 11:20 UTC ± 3 hours
Reentry will be along one of the ground tracks shown here. It is still too early to determine a meaningful debris footprint. Follow here for updates: aerospace.org/reentries/cz-5b-rb-id-54217
SpaceX is targeting Thursday, November 3 at 1:22 a.m. ET for launch of the Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13G mission to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. If needed, a backup opportunity is also available with a 116-minute launch window opening at 11:26 p.m. ET the same day.
The Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched CRS-22, Crew-3, Turksat 5B, Crew-4, CRS-25, and one Starlink mission. After stage separation, the first stage will land on the Just Read the Instructions droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
Django Unchained (2014) and Thomas Gainsborough’s The Blue youtube.com/shorts/CVLp5e4HEh... Quentin Tarantino’s post-Western blockbuster Django Unchained earned renowned critical acclaim. This was in large part for its subversion of Hollywood’s longstanding and overwhelmingly negative portrayal of Black individuals. The film’s costume designer was drawn to The Blue Boy, a commissioned portrait of a white, wealthy merchant’s young son, after learning that the title character of Django, portrayed by Jamie Foxx, would wear a blue suit in his new line of work as a bounty hunter after having escaped slavery.
Adopting a similar attire to this white boy of immense privilege and reasonable status contributed to the director’s intended subversion of racial stereotypes. In addition to this, it is symbolic of the character of Django’s shift in societal position.
