AuDHD, Finding The Self & Special Interest Historical Sewing

What if making costumes and historical clothing is only the beginning? What can we learn from how people did things before us? What if creating is part of how we perceive and learn about and find meaning in our lives? And what does it mean to be neurodivergent at the same time? Join me as we ponder the bigger questions that arise while we make things. The journey we take in our creative process is just as important as what we end up making. Let's learn from history, NOT repeat it.

Hazel says you should support mutual aid organizations! Here’s an incredible group of volunteers if you live in the Triangle Area (or if you don’t you can donate to RUMAH from anywhere): raleighunitedmutualaidhub.substack.com/p/rumah-pro…

Clarissa Pinkola Estes wrote the book Women Who Run With The Wolves, which honestly, touched me so much. This letter is titled “Letter To A Young Activist During Troubled Times”.

To everyone who is going through a late-realized AuDHD journey, or just working through how tough all this is, I see you. I have learned more and more, some of my perspectives have shifted a little, but I’m glad I was brave enough to tell you all about it. May your holidays be restful and peaceful, wherever we are all headed.

Attention Salty Possum Club!

Did you know that all the $ I make from your views goes straight to helping people in need? Since getting monetized last year, I have made $400 and all of it has gone right back out to neurodivergent, queer, and other marginalized communities.

I have a BIG ask for you, and I know the people who watch my channel have big hearts. If you can, would you consider helping me out and get Rania's family the funds they need to escape the horrible conditions they are in? It doesn't need to be a lot, if you have $1 or $3 that still helps. And/or share their go fund me anywhere you can? They are struggling to get the visibility and help they need, and I care a lot about helping them reach their goal. I appreciate all of you, and I know we can do this:

You did it! We are now 5,000 strong little salty possums, striving for authentic and honest ways of being! Glad you're here, whether it's for sewing, special interests, or neurodivergent content. They're all apart of who I am, and I hope in the time I've been here, I've shown you that you can be yourself and make things you love, and those things can evolve and still be important! Thank you.

Over the last 4 years as I’ve been making costumes I’ve also been managing through burnout at the same time. Today I posted another video about that, and how we can manage burnout as AuDHD people. Shout out to my outdoor toaster, which I mention in this segment about accommodating ourselves and altering parts of our environment to be less stressful. And stay tuned for more videos in this series.
