Parametric design is changing how architecture is built.
On this channel, I show how to turn design into scalable systems using Grasshopper, Rhino, and modern AEC workflows.
You’ll learn how to:
• Build parametric models in Grasshopper
• Structure BIM data inside design workflows
• Automate repetitive tasks in architecture
• Connect tools like Speckle for real-time collaboration
I’m Marijn — architect & computational designer.
I work at the intersection of architecture, software, and systems.
My focus is on turning complex design processes into flexible, data-driven workflows.
New videos on:
• Computational design
• Parametric BIM
• AEC technology
• Design automation
If you’re an architect, designer, or developer working in the built environment, this channel is for you.

I gave an AI agent control over Grasshopper using Swiftlet.
Then I asked it to generate a model inspired by MVRDV’s Valley.
Not to recreate the building, but to stress-test a workflow where AI can control massing, facade rules, parametric blocks, outputs, and design variations directly inside Grasshopper.
The interesting part is not just that AI can “make geometry”.
The interesting part is that it can start working with design intent.

New video is live: Generate SketchUp Facades from Grasshopper
In this tutorial, I show a complete workflow for connecting Grasshopper, Rhino, Elefront, Pancake, Rhino 8 components, and SketchUp into one practical facade pipeline.
The idea is simple:
Parametric facade generation is powerful for exploring options quickly.
But at some point, designers need to continue the design process in a familiar modelling environment.
That’s where a structured Grasshopper → SketchUp workflow becomes useful.
→ In the video:
• Generate facade systems in Grasshopper
• Bake structured blocks with Elefront
• Use Pancake and Rhino 8 components to streamline the workflow
• Export clean facade models into SketchUp
• Continue the design process with editable geometry

Curious to hear how others are connecting parametric workflows with everyday design tools like SketchUp.
